looking at the samui beach apartments for 2 weeks in dec for 2 familys it shares facilities with the sea scape resort the southern end of chaweng beach has anyone been there or can tell me how long a walk from either of these places it is to the centre of chaweng, we want to be close enough to walk but hard to judge by the map :)
To walk from the southern end of Chaweng Beach Road to the centre should take no more than 10 or 15 minutes.

Have stayed at Samui Beach Apartments twice.They are situated at the southern end of Chaweng.You are probably looking at a minimum 20 min walk depending on your walking speed.You might do it quicker then that if you stride it out but I reckon 25 mins easy stroll would be the time frame to work on.

cheers Jamie, did you find the apartments ok? and you can use the resort facilities nxt door cant you? can you remember if the pool had a shallow or kids bit. i didnt make it down that end last time but as you are walking along towards the centre of chaweng on that beach road are there shops all along there or more just when you hit the centre, wont mind a 20 min walk if theres shops to stop in lol do you know the chaweng food centre past the green mango is this still a 20 min walk from the appartments as well? we are so in 2 minds this trip as there will be 9 of us including 2 preschoolers and 3 teenagers not sure on weather to book before hand or just wing it like we normaly do but do want some thing similer to these apartments and close to central chaweng so if you can think of anything else that would be great, bear in mind we are normally back packers but are spending abit more this time with all the kids with us so basiclly budget of around 1500 baht a night per room.

The apartments are ok & the rooms would seem to suit what you are after.The apartments are on the same block of land as Seascape Beach Resort & you do share all facilities.The pool has a shallow end but is on the small side.The beach here is very shallow & calm more than ok for a dip with the kiddies if you feel that way inclined.
Shops line either side of the beach road all the way down so there will be more than enough to browse through all though after a while most seem to sell the same things.Plenty of restaurants also in the general area so no shortage of food options for everybody.
It is a 20/25 min walk to the area around green mango.I have been known to start out & never make it to my destination but that involved numerous stops to quench the thirst !!!.

On my first trip to Thailand back in 99, I was so excited when I noticed that on cans and bottles of Sprite, the Thai word looked like Alison!! I am sure it is! So my husband took a pic of the Alison sprite and Tan coke cans! We are crazy I know!

Well this is the tiniest of bars right next to Green Mango club, and it's probably this unique location which helps it get a lot of the business which it does. If people are sick of mango, they go back to MOO bar and its friendly staff. All of which i remember fondly. They guys who work there will openly flirt with all the ladies and table service is available Casual
I have visited Ko Samui 6 times and have flown 5 times.1st & 2nd times Sydney- Bangkok then Pattaya (Utapeo) to Samui.Last time SYD-BKK-Samui.I have flown , internationally with Thai airways , internally with Bangkok air & highly recommend both of these airlines to Thailand & around this lovely country.
