Elephant football
by phil_uk_net
These kids working at one of the elephant camps were practising their football skills. The elephant was quite useful too, a good target man but kept getting caught offside. It was rumoured that Glen Roeder was taking a look at him to replace Les Ferdinand next season.
Tranquility at a fishing village in Bophut
by balisunshine
This charming village
on the northern side of Ko Samui
has renovated old Chinese shop houses to
convert them into restaurants, bars,
shops and guesthouses.
It’s a great spot to stay and idle away
the afternoons at one of its coffee shops,
to buy a fresh baguette at a French bakery shop,
attend the yoga classes & New Age seminars
offered at the Yoga Café,
or even have a romantic dinner.
There are also some agencies that offer
boat rides that depart to the near by islands of
Koh Pha-Ngan and Koh Tao.
The beach itself,
doesn’t have much of a seashore
and the water may be too shallow
for swimming during the dry season,
but the tranquility in this town popular
amongst the French,
has plenty of Zen.
Definitely worth the visit
or the stay.
Hire a 4WD Jeep

Ko Samui is quite large. But the road system is good and so you can drive around the island stopping at different beaches, temples, waterfalls or pubs.
The rental office required a passport and most of us Malaysians were squeemished about surrendering one of our passports. Finally someone did.
There is a domestic airport is Samui but most tourists are taking the ferry from Surat Thani and some from Cha Am by boat first to Ko Tao and then island hop to Ko Pha Ngan and Ko Samui.
Great Night Out.
by Ree123 about Big John Restaurant
Located next to the beach this restaurant has fantastic sunsets most nights.
The seafood is superb, freshly caught every day. If seafood isn't your thing there's plenty to choose from on the menu from Thai to Eurpoean. It's open all day so you can use their beach and have lunch, maybe see a beach wedding.
They also have a live evening show which is a riot. The restaurant offers a taxi service anywhere on the island at a reduced rate, or free if your staying near. Choose a favourite? Just one? Impossible, but if you twist my arm I'd say the barbecued shrimp, or maybe the lobster, or maybe the silver pomfret with plum sauce, or maybe the thai green curry with chicken, or maybe the pork cordon bleu, or...................
Koh Pangan Full moon party
by nbfi2001
A big beach party, where everyone gets wasted and tipsy, and more often drunk!
A real PARTY place, starts around 11pm and ends at 7am, in Koh Pangan, every full moon night (once a month).
If you happen to enjoy this kind of a scene, go with your friends and get wasted too!
