Paradise Beach Resort, Mae Nam, Koh Samui

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on November 20, 2014

As I've been to this island before I knew exactly where I wanted to stay, at Mae Nam beach with its long sandy beach. The Paradise Beach Resort is in perfect location for this matter.
We got the best bungalow of the resort, the one in sea front. Being the most popular bungalow it is a bit outdated as it is always occupied, but even if a bit outdated, it is surely worth it. You wake up every morning with the sound and the view of the sea.
Breakfast served on the sea front, they have one of the best breakfast one can hope for, you can order your eggs in the style as you wish and pick from the buffet the Thai or western food you like and excellent selection of fresh fruits.
We also used the hotel restaurant for dinner few times and the quality of the food was excellent, I mean the Thai food, the curries and so were very good, we didn't try any western dish (I can have those at home) The prices for the quality was reasonable, but the drinks are a bit over charged, so you keep your drinking session to the happy hour in the pool bar before dinner.
The Paradise Resort has also free transport service few times a day to the fisherman’s village and Chaweng which is the tourist center in Koh Samui. They also pick you up for free back to the hotel if you only agree on the time. We used few times, very practical and handy service in did.
In future visit to this island I will surely look first on the possibility staying here again.

Unique Quality: Location is excellent in Mae Nam sand beach.
Price per value is excellent and the friendly service of all the staff no matter what duty they have.

Directions: Located in Mae Nam beach, short trip from the airport or from the ferry piers.

I stayed at this hotel for 24 nights in July 2004 in a deluxe room. I found the hotel nice and quiet, a good choice for honeymooners. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and were cleaned every day to a high standard. The rooms have a double bed and single bed, TV, fridge, mini-bar, radio, air-con, safe for valuables, and balcony.

The hotel also has some bungalows right next to the beach, although some are close to the swimming pool so you lack some privacy when sitting on your balcony.

The hotel has 2 swimming pools. The hotel has a bar and restaurant next to the beach. I found the hotel prices for food and drink expensive so would recommend you visit one of the many excellent restaurants in Maenam or nearby Bophut. You can either walk into Maenam (about 20-25 mins walk along the main road), or you can walk along the beach. Bophut is about 1.5-2km along the coast.

Bear in mind there is no nightlife in the area (apart from a couple of restaurants/bars just outside the hotel) so would recommend you take the free shuttle bus into Chaweng if you like to be where all the action is. Alternatively head into Maenam or Bophut if quiet restaurants and bars is your scene.

I saw both honeymooners and families at this hotel so it would suit both.

Overall a very nice hotel.

Unique Quality: Nice quiet location on Maenam offering great views across to Koh Pha-Ngan. The beach is very quiet and you can walk in both directions for some distance.

Free shuttle bus to Chaweng.
Free internet access in reception.

Directions: Situated on the North of Koh Samui island
