    LUCKY FIND

    by

Kiki and I made our way from Bangkok to Surat Thani by plane; then we were dropped off on Samui with plans to stay at this place. Well actually we were propositioned on the boat to try it and it turned out to be a great choice.
We arrived and had two choices left for rooms, the smallest and the largest. Once we saw the large room and what it had to offer for 1000BHT per night, we couldn't resist it. The room was huge and seemed like it was fairly new, with a bacony to view the beach. It also came with TV, refriggerator, double bed, air-con, and hot shower. This resort also offers the smallest room which has a fan, double bed and shower for 400BHT; the middle size with fan/air-con, double bed and hot shower for 800BHT per night.
The room was great but the food at the restaurant was even better. Located in the reception area, this place served wonderful food while the staff were friendly and kind (see restaurant tips for more).
The location of our room was only about a 3 minute walk away to the beach, and we spent most afternoons down there duing our week stay. This beach was quite a lot different then my stays on Chaweng, the main reasons being the lack of garbage on the beach, and just how quiet and peaceful it is. There were no sellers walking around here and little to no jet-ski or boat activity. The only boat activity was the ferry bringing people to this beach and taking them away.
We stayed here for a fun filled week on Maenam and will come back again for sure. We were very lucky in finding this place as the island was busy, but I would now recommend this area over Chaweng. It was a lot more relaxing and quiet, the prices were cheaper and everything is within a short distance away.
