$45 a night for a private bungalow with double bed and in room bathroom and shower, close proximity to the nightlife of Chaweng Beach, and oceanside pool with private beach! What more could you ask for? The tide went out two times a day allowing us to walk for what seemed like a mile out into the sea. You could find your own private sandbar to lie in the sun on. Take your snorkeling gear because the water is shallow and clear allowing you to see some beautiful sea life. This had to be one of the best values on Ko Samui. The hotel restaurant was excellent with a nice selection of Thai and Western style food. Great pizza and thai dishes! Breakfast was included with the room and was perfect! The staff were incredible, even letting us watch our own movie in the hotel restaurant while they served us dinner! The hotel pool is small but sufficient and the beach is only a few steps away. You can rent snorkeling gear if you don't have your own and also kayaks. They helped us plan a scuba diving trip to some outer islands and can plan other trips as well. We did have a problem due to the political violence taking place in Thailand at the time. We were supposed to fly to Phuket the next day but that airport was closed due to riots, so we had to book two extra nights. Malaysia Airlines wanted to charge us for changing our flights which was not our fault. The hotel helped us sort out the problem with the airline and change our flights at no cost from the airline after explaining our situation(for a nominal fee of course which irked me!). Most hotels would not have charged for this service, but oh well, not a huge deal. The hotel does have a shuttle to and from the airport but it is kind of expensive compared to taxis. When going out at night we would walk up to the main road and catch a taxi/truck (open air covered pick up truck that picks people up at random on the roadside and takes you where you want to go) and get a ride to Chaweng Beach and walk the strip. Every kind of restaurant you could want from American fast food and Western style fine dining (Italian, Norwegian, Swedish) to local Thai and other Asian food (Chinese, Indian, Japanese). The rooms at the hotel were always cleaned on time with fresh towels. I will definately stay here again!
Unique Quality: Unbeatable price and location!
