Sailing into Samui Yacht Club

There’s no sailing into this place.
Don’t quite understand why the ‘Yacht Club’ is in the name,
but anyway…..

I had heard about this place through
the scammer we had met on the bus
on our way over here and then
I read about the place in the Lonely Planet.

Located on a beautiful, small Thing-ta Kian Bay beach
and footstep from The Cliff Restaurant,
I decided to check this place out.

It’s not to far off from Lamia Beach,
but you will definitely need transportation
if you to plan to seek some action.

I first entered the property through the beach,
and there restaurant which was outdated.

I went on to the front desk to ask to see one of the rooms.

The gardens are nice and there is a
comfortable distance between the bungalows.
But they seemed to be quite dim in the interior.

I visited the Superior which,
like all other bungalows had its own terrace.

Rooms were clean, but furnishings were very plain.
The bed that I saw had a mosquito net and sheets were clean.
It had a TV, large refrigerator, safe, a/c
and the bathroom was also clean.

If you can get a discounted rate for this place,
and want to pass a few days isolated on a beautiful beach,
then this could be a choice.

If not, maybe look elsewhere.

Rates:

Superior 1,500 – 2,000 Bahts
Seaview Deluxe 2,500 Bahts

These cabins were so beautiful, really big, all windows, a deck with chairs facing the beach. A little pricier than most, but worth it to treat yourself for a night or two. The beach here was not so great in June, but might be ok around December. The restaurant looked amazing, too bad we got back too late to try it out.

KOH SAMUI

by Lozza_9

"Introduction"

Here is a map of the Island. Koh Samui is the Third largest Islands, after Phuket and Koh Chang.

Flying is the easiest and quickest option. Its inexpensive and hassle free. You can get flights from Bangkok. The flight takes no more than a hour. The planes are very small planes and I found the food Nasty. I wouldn't eat before either, I found the journey pretty bad and I felt sick. I think this was due to the size of the plane and the amount of times the Plane went up and down!!!

The Airport at Koh Samui is an Amazing place. Its a airfield with just a strip but it has little huts which make the Airport. One hunt allows you to collect your baggage, another allows you to check in, and another hut is a waiting area.

"PanCakes"

On the Island you will see some of these stalls. They sell the most fanastic PanCakes I have ever had for very litle money.

"Relaxing on the beach"

If you visit the beach in the evening, sometimes they have small fires on the beaches. They put loads of Deck chairs around the fire and you can sit there all night and relax. very Romantic. Here's a picture of me relaxing in the evening.

Samui Yacht Club

Koh Samui 84320

I stayed here for about 2 weeks and this is a great place to stay. The rooms are very clean and very big. To be very honest the food was not the best. It may have changed now!! There's a lovely place along the private beach - sorry can't remember the name. The group I was with spent all our time here! We have many breakfast, lunch and sometimes Dinner at this place. If you go to this hotel, let me know and I will email you directions on how to get to the restaurant.

I can't remember the cost but I stayed for about 8 nights and it cost me £200.00. This included drinks from the room bar, hiring of a scooter and a few other things.

"Hin Ta Hin Yai"

Viewing these astonishing creations, even scientific purists would be tempted to believe that nature too, can be as whimsical as the most eccentric artist. Also known as 'Grandfather and Grandmother rocks'; entirely formed by the elements, two extraordinarily accurate male and female genitalia-shaped rock formations share a perch overlooking the sea.

"Hin Ta Hin Yai"

Here's a picture of me near one of the rocks.

"The Temple of the Big Budda"

The temple is 12 metres high and can be seen for miles. Around the temple are 50 or so stalls at the entrance and food stores. While I was there I paid towards a roof for a building in Koh Samui. I bought a roof Tile and wrote my name on the tile. Some where in the area of the Budda, My name is on a roof!!! I received a small gift as a way of thanks - 1 small 'BIG BUDDA'.

Here's a picture of the Budda

"Entrance to the Big Budda"

"Budda - Tiles"

Here's a picture of the Tiles my Group wrote while visiting the Big Budda.

The other picture is of a stall. There's loads of these around the Budda.

"Riding Elephants"

While on the Island you must try Riding with Elephants. Be warned the Elephants do smell. Here's a picture of my boyfriend feeding the elephant.

"Thai Massage"

On the beaches of Koh Samui, there are young ladies offering Thai Massages. You have to pay a small fee but I heard they where great. Some of the women stand on some people!!! Here's a picture of my boyfriend having a Thai Massage.

Hi padthai,
i´ve been to the yacht club once. Its located between Lamai and Chaweng beach, in a little beach called Ao Thong Ka Tien. They got nice big but old bungalows.
The beach is good for snorkling. Normally its quiet all the over, on the end of the beach there is a good restaurant in the Crystal BAy Resort.
I think you´ll enjoy your stay.
