First Impressions
by Sajt
When I arrived the island. I didn't know what to do, where to go, but I didn't worry about it.. You always find something on the island.Sometimes cheaper, sometimes expensiver. For example I had to look around for a cheap bungalow for almost two hours, but I found it. Right on the beach 300 Bat for two person. If you don't want ot be right on the beach, enough to pay 150 Bat. This is not a ***** place, but enough to stay.
Dive
by frank&Ietje
With a speedboat to Ko Toa and a big boat to Sail-rock. Good instructors who want to show you the best.
We took Samui International Diving School. Perfect and we have now a dive-video from our dive - great. You can rent good diving equipment at the dive-center.
FRIENDLY PEOPLE
by mamasan69 about COOLA BAR
This was another place that I just happened to walk past many times during the afternoon and finally decided to try out at night. I met many tourists and locals at this spot and that made it a great place to hang out.
During the day it was nice to sit and talk to the staff and have a beer. While at night it was busy with tourists most of the time, and a lot of fun.
I ended up spending quite a bit of time here while I was on Samui, mostly getting "primed" up for the Reggae Pub.
****UPDATE****This bar was closed when I visited on my trip in February 2005, but on my lastest trip I noticed that it has reopened again, but in a different location. I didn't see it until my last night on Samui this time, so I never had a chance to go and see it, or see if any of the people I had met before were still there. I will have to see if it is here on my next visit and make sure I stop in for a drink or two. Its just off the main road on Chaweng Beach, so anything goes.

Big Buddha
by JappaJukebox
Visit the Big Buddha in the early morning or late afternoon for a truly Thai photo oppertunity. The Buddha faces east so morning is probably the best option. Apart from the Wat and the usual setup around these you will also find a small market area and a few small restaurants.
