Breathless journey in Zazen

Zazen in Koh Samui : Absolutely breathless !!
Date: April 2007
We have already been twice to Zazen in two years time and it's really a wonderful place ! Straight away we all were enchanted !! We have never had such a service before! Everything is perfect ! Starting from the staff to the Spa, the restaurant, the pool, the beach, the lounge bar! Everything takes you to paradise ! We never resolved ourselves to go somewhere else. The bungalows are furnished with very good taste and give a very cosy and luxurous atmosphere. This kind of bungalow is just right for couples or for a family! Our two boys (9 and 3 ) were very happy ! The food was absolutely divine in a very romantic restaurant. Once again each detail has it's place ! Zazen has a very large menu ( and lots of choice for children )! We have never tasted such lovely food! We could relax at the Lounge Bar , nice music, very cozy and trendy touch ! The billiard had a lot of success, and being served with great cocktails in the pool was magic ! The staff took care of our boys while my husband and I could have a moment to ourselves in the magnificent Spa Massage! We could not believe how zen it was for us! We have discovered a HYMN TO REFINEMENT! In conclusion ZAZEN IS A BEAUTIFUL COSY AND TRENDY BOUTIQUE RESORT! We can't wait to go back and we are counting the days !!

We very enjoyed our stay at the Zazen. Bungalows are beautiful with many small and attentioned details. Staff is well educated and so helpfull. Breakfast and A la Carte Menu delicious. We get a perfect romantic and relaxing stay. We did not take enough time to visit the island and the neighbour as we really wanted to relax but we will probably be back on the beginning of 2008.
Great value .... and perfect place for my wife.

Let us give you an advice: go there to see it, to enjoy it,...
Zazen is the best place where we ever stayed.
You will enjoy there when you will arrive. It's so beautifull and the bungalows are very nice and always clean.
Zazen provides a lot of free services that you will never find in others hotels. And that it's a great thing.
The staff is so kind and they can speak a good english (sometimes a problem in Thailand). The managers are also always available to help you in case of you have any questions, suggestions,...
And the restaurant is also so fantastic: nice place, nice food and so beautiffull in your plates... Just Delicious
Thanks to the Zazen because they participate in the succes of the honeymoon. We will try to go back there as soon as possible.

perfect stay. wish we had more days here.

we have stayed 3 nights at the beachfront villa. I guess all the rooms are more or less the same type of room so the beachfront villa is just better or more expensive because is in front the beach. its worth!! waking up at 6,30 to see the sunrise in front of the room payless!!!
but for sure, the best we will remember is the staff, the food and all the details that are in the hotel, room, etc.
during our stay in thailand we have been in many good hotels. The peninsula in Bangkok, Central Krabi, etc but at zazen we got the best service for sure!! very nice people!! we are so sad we do not have more days!!
i do not know what zazen made to us, but we feel sad leaving this hotel. This did not happened to us with the other hotels.
i give it a 10!!

My fiancee and I stayed 6 nights at this wonderful boutique resort and had some of our best moments togheter !
The place is amazing, the staff very was helpfull, the food at the restaurant revealed beyond excellent.
Service was among the best we encoutered in our 3-week trip around Thailand (and we did stay in some expensive luxury hotel). Every member of the staff gave us the required attention and courtesy we were asking for.
We had dinner twice at the resort restaurant and it couldn't have been a better surprise. The chef offers exquisite dishes and desserts. Being myself a wine expert I also found their cellar pretty well furnished and honest with prices considering the location. We then found out it is known as one of the best restaurant in Samui, I'd say it definitely is !
Rooms are spacious very cosy and respectful of local traditions. Found it crazy to have an iPod station to play our favourite songs on. Beds and pillows are confortable, bathroom supplies well furnished.
We will definitely be back to this trendy and relaxing resort !!

We stayed here for seven nights in August and really enjoyed the calm serene ethos of the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were friendly without being pushy. Our room was a garden villa with 50 inch screen and we were treated to sparkling wine on our arrival. Hot towels cold towels all infused with peppermint and fruit offered in the afternoon. The little touches made this place perfect for our silver wedding anniversary.
Ko Samui - a tropical paradise !
by jojes
After having been to Pattaya and Phuket, we chose Ko Samui for the last few days of our 3rd visit to Thailand.
As we only had 4 days there, we only took 1 excursion (to Ko Tao) and took the rest of the time to relax after 4 weeks of going from one place to another.
One thing is for sure : Ko Samui is great and we'll be going back some day !
"Where at Ko Samui ?"
After travelling around for a month, we went for the tranquile Bophut Beach in the north end of the island. Clear water, quiet beach, great views on the nearby islands, a fantastic hotel, nice little village, not by far as touristy as other beach-places, ...
"Our hotel !"
We stayed at Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa, a true oasis of peace and quiet. The hotel is owned by a Belgian-Thai couple.
Alex was our tourguide when we first came to Thailand. Back then they were still rebuilding the old resort into what it is today. We always talked about visiting his resort afterwards, and we haven't regretted it for one second !
Bungalows in the lush tropical garden or right at the beach, a fantastic restaurant, very friendly staff, excellent service, ...

Child Friendly Resort in Koh Samui
by happycats
Hi,
We are looking for suggestions for a child friendly resort in Samui, perhaps in Boh Phut and ideally French speaking. Also any other French owned or speaking resorts on the island.
Does anyone know of one? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi
When we were at Samui in 2005, we stayed at Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa.
It is managed by a Belgian-Thai couple. The manager Alex is from Brussels and speaks French, as does the chef Wally who also comes from Brussels.
It's a great resort that has everything one can wish for !
It is located directy on the beach at Bophut, which is much quieter than the busy Chaweng beach. The bungalows have recently been redecorated/rebuild and have all the luxury one can be looking for. The food is truly excellent !
Have a look at my tip on this resort to find more details : http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/114fff/16186f/3/
If going back to Samui, no doubt in my mind about staying here again !
Enjoy your holiday !

We live in Bophut and have a small resort with a swimming pool, which is 5 minutes walk to the beach. If you would like to advise how many bedrooms you need, we would be delighted to help ourselves, or if we do not have the capacity that you need, can recommend some of the hotels that are very close to us and are right on the beach. If you would like to be in a hotel, perhaps you can give me an approximate price range?
