Climbing
by Ofusan
Hi..
I'm from Malaysia and there is some routes for climbing in Tioman and Batu Caves (K.L) If You're heading to Tioman go to Kampung JUARA (Juara Village)
Over there they have about 50 (more or less) routes for climbing.
I'm going to Krabi in July myself. I've book the ticket flights already. My plan is t stay in Krabi for a few days then take a boat to Phuket. I wont be bringing my ropes, just my runners/ shoes and of cause my harness. Well, we just pray :) the rain wont be so heavily in that month.
Happy Climbing!
Taxi

It's quite expensive to travel around in Krabi. Taxi (somewhat like tuk-tuk but not the same) is the only means of transportation in Krabi, it's quite expensive to get around.
Most of the local tours offer free pick-up services. Make sure to ask them to pick you up, especially if you're going to stay at an isolated resort like I did.
Ban Klang
by Cathy&Gary about Ban Klang
I decided to put the town of Ban Klang (Chicken town) in my Krabi section as its certainly worth a mention. If you are driving to Krabi then its one of the little towns along the way on the main road.
Every time we have been through this town we have said one day we will have to stop and buy a chicken.
Little stalls with rotisseries are set up along the roadway, each stall has a bare light bulb hanging down, if the lights on, then the chooks are cooked.
We stopped at one with a nice seating area and bought 2 chickens (minus the head and feet of course) absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly and the coating of spices was amazing. The chickens were 120baht each.
Everyone enjoyed this and we will definitely stop here again.
Shell Cemetary

Hmmm... Is it really ancient fossils or am I looking at cement blocks?? I am not sure about the significant of this site. It is a bit ... mmm... felt cheated for coming here.
Tips: As most tousist sites in Thailand, entrance fee is much cheaper for locals. So, if you are an asian, and have Thai friends to bring you, just pretend that you are Thai.
Shady park

Shell Fossil Cemetery ia a shell graveyard where 75-million-year-old shell fossils have formed giant slabs that jut out into the sea.
We didn't find them all that interesting put it is a nice park with a lot of large trees for shade.
There are several vendors lined up as you walk up from the beach..
