Packing list for snokeling trip
by jackiesg
Bring your own towel to dry yourselve after snokeling or you can lay it on the white sandy bench when you want to get some sun tanning. Usually the hotel will provide pool towels so you do not need to get your own bath room towels.
Swim suit: There are so so many pretty bikinis selling everywhere in Krab i Aonang that ladies will be spoilt with choices! If you join tour snokeling packages, the tour operators will provide you with the snokel equipments. Some people will bring their own (sold in many shops at Aonang) for hygiene reasons.
Take a seasick pill before getting on the boat if you're prone to motion sickness. The current can get quite choppy at times. But if you didn't have the pills, no worry, the tour guide should have some at spare. They usually keep a box of first aid kit on boat. Your camera, how can you not take down the beautiful beaches and the sea? Sandals or flip flops are the best footwear in Krabi, you can wear that practically everywhere in Krabi! (Note: maybe not for temples) Sun tan lotion! You can get this in many pharmacies or minimarts in Krabi but I think it's more expensive. So if can get one from your own country, it might be much cheaper.
From the Airport to Krabi Town and its Surrounding
by Aidy_p
If you do not want to haggle with the taxi drivers outside the airport, head towards the taxi booking station that is found on the right side of the airport.
It may be a tad bit more expensive (350baht to the suburbs; 600baht to Krabi town) than the taxis at the taxi stand, but at least it's much safer.
NOT the one across Vogue Pranang Bay Resort
by sacrebleu about Shame I can't remember!
This restaurant was awful but this is referring to their Thai food. From what I saw, the pizzas looked fine and I didn't see many people ordering Thai. It has a terrace and is quite big and is raised above the street level. I don't remember the name now but it's diagonally opposite Vogue Pranang Bay Resort. It's more like what is not good there.... don't have Thai. Even though the larb chicken was good, it's fried minced chicken with herbs/chilli and served with string beans and sliced cucumber, but the clear chicken soup (tom ga gai) was yuck and the hot and sour prawn curry was watery and it literally blowed my head off!! It was so hot, I gave up and ordered the bill instead. They were least pleased when I said it was too hot. I don't mind spicy food but it was incredibly hot and blend at the same time. Just imagine that, eating a fresh chilli would probably taste better than that. Sorry to be so mean but it's the worse Thai meal I have ever had in my life.
Railay Beach Hiking
by farpost2
So most people know about Railay Beach, but I bet lots of people miss the cool viewpoints that can be reached by a short hike.
You find the path for them both by going from Railay (East) toward the mountain – walking along the sidewalk until you see a muddy and root filled path leading up the hill to the left. Take that up and when you reach a “Y” at the path take a left to see the scenic lookout and a right to find the lagoon.
The initial climb is a bit precarious but the path is well defined and provides a great spot for a photo. It was a bit overcast the day I was there, but still worth the climb.
Sitting Buddha
by zrim
This 58 meter sitting Buddha was built in a serpent motif. Upon closer inspection the seven pronged halo behind the head of the Buddha is seen to be composed of serpent heads. According to lore, when the serpent king came to challenge the Buddha, the Buddha chose not to fight or harm the serpent king, but instead he subued him through love and kindness.
