    A real Thai experience

    by

We had a nice time here. The resort is suit for people who want to stay in quiet part of ao nang. There're 3 pools, and kid area, 2 pools on the lower ground, one pool with swim-up bar and one pool on the higher level which is always quieter and some shady area. The room is very nice, furnished in traditional thai decor with all modern amenities. staffs are always nice and helpful. The resort location is several hundred meters from the main road and front beach, so we always take tuk tuk, local taxi which cost 20B per person, very cheap. The food at the restaurant is nice but we did go out side for change. The transfer service they charge the same price as taxi stand outside.

We really had a great time here!

by TripAdvisor Member Jason-Eva

Last summer we stayed at the Krabi Thai Village resort for 10 days and we absolutely had a great time! Besides the great service is the view and the area around the hotel absolutely worthwile. From the balcony of your room you have a great view over the poolside and beautiful gardens of the hotel. The atmosphere is relaxed and very romantic. there were many things we could do in the area surrounding the hotel, like elephant rides on the movieset of "the beach" and visit the beautifull koh phi phi islands. The service during the whole stay was absolutly excellent! and we will remember this place as one of the best weve ever been to. If you plan to go to Thailand this really is the place to be!

Liked the hotel - shame about the resort

by TripAdvisor Member mg12

I have just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel with my husband & friend having first visited Chiang Mai & Mae Hong Son.
The lobby is spacious & impressive and on arrival we were seated in the lobby with cold towels & welcome drinks whilst an employee explained all about the hotel & the resort of Krabi to us. We were then shown to our rooms which were quite special. They are a very good size & ours had a huge bed (larger than any UK bed). The bathroom had a bath & also a walk in shower & a separate dressing area. Shutters by the bath opened into the main bedroom area - remember to close them if you don't want to view all your partner's bathroom habits.
The rooms were spotlessly clean & the air conditioning was the most effective I have experienced in a long time. We did have a slight problem with the shower & immediately we had reported it someone was dispatched to sort it out.
The only drawback was the service at breakfast which was not what I expect from a 4* Thai hotel. There were many waiters/waitresses who just seemed to stand about. When they served tea & coffee you never got more than half a cup. The hotel boasts tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms but you have to pay for the sachets of coffee & teabags you use.
I do not agree with previous reviews which state there are plenty of sunbeds as this was not my experience.
We did book one of our trips through the tour desk in the hotel. The tour bus was dirty & the guide was not very knowledgable.
The Carnivore restaurant directly opposite the entrance to the hotel serves excellent food.
The resort of Krabi was however nothing special & we shall not be returning.

Fanatastic

Stayed at the resort for five days from 10th Oct till15th Oct. We really enjoyed our stay at the resort. The rooms are spacious and spotless with a lovely balcony to enjoy. The pool area is really nice and the people behind the swim up bar are lovely and friendly. With regards to the location it is a 10 min walk to the resort centre of Ao Nang but this was not a problem as a tuk tuk was only 40 baht. (70p) We found some suberb restaurants in Ao Nang while we were there, especially recommending Cafe Del Mar opposite the hotel and Banlay Thai Kitchen over looking the beach where lunch was roughly £6 for two.
Overall Krabi is a lovely place with plenty to do. We would love to go again soon and we would stay at the Thai village. Finally the Thai people are the nicest people you will ever meet they treat you like kings.

Excellent value for money

by TripAdvisor Member JHKLDS

Excellent resort and by far the best in its category as far as we could judge from seeing others. Although not directly on the beach it lies very close to Ao Nang which is lively and is well connected to Koh Phi Phi or Phra Nang Cave beach (don't bother going to other Railay beaches). Our room was spacy and clean, the premises are well kept and service is great. The price-quality level can't be matched by any 'beach side resort' alternatively I would only book the rayavadee but it's in a different price category and less well situated if you want a night out elsewhere.

Great place

by TripAdvisor Member Lou17

We stayed here for 9nts in November and had a great stay. Ao Nang is well situated for days out (we went to Railay beach, Hong Island and white water rafting) and this resort is slightly out of the action so it is nice and quiet but well placed to be able to walk to all the excellent restaurants of Ao Nang.

Room was a good size, the bed unusually comfortable! And it is very good value for money. I can imagine that the pool area gets very busy in high season but lots of people seem to have days out so it might not be a problem. We only ate lunch at the hotel but this was good and reasonably priced by hotel standards.

Having stayed in many places I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort to anybody - there was a mix of couples, friends and families but not too many families! (No offence but I don't have children yet!)

Had very good food...Carnivore opposite the hotel does excellent steaks but the "Plastic chair" area in town does great food at incredible prices. I am sitting at my desk longing for a Chang or Pina colada! (The pool bar staff are very accomodating!)

Nice enough but nothing overly special

by TripAdvisor Member Thelostpearl

A nice enough stay at the Thai Village but nothing special. Some nice elements eg the book table where you could deposit a book completed and if desired select another and the room was pleasant enough. Great that they provided towells for use by the pool or the beach which really helps. Our room was thankfully towards the back so we did nto have to endure the sound of the nightly entertainment which seemed to be the same singer wearing a different outfit depending on the theme but still crucifying the same numbers each night. What could have been improved was the breakfast which was a struggle being vegetarian as the toaster did not toast and bread rolls did not really feature. The place mat was plastic and no linen so overall an air of a two star / three star dining experience. The pool was very nice with a swim up bar but sadly was then surrounded by concrete with stones in so cheapening it somewhat. The staff were also not especially welcoming or friendly. Top tip - get your laundry done locally (40bht for 1kg incl ironing) rather than at the hotel which is more expensive. Also there is a 500BHT departure tax which despite us asking trailfinders twice they said this was not the case and given our over zealous credit card company had put a hold on our card thinking it might be being used fraudulently as we were in Thailand we could have been stuck begging in the lovely shiney new Bangkok airport. Also eyeball your taxi driver on leaving even the official ones.... we got a complete nutcase on our return flight in from Cambodia and was one of the most scary experiences ever !

Needs renovation

by TripAdvisor Member J.Chr.

I agree overall with the other reviews : the rooms are big, very clean, nicely decorated and so is the lobby. The use of economic bulbs, though, is an offense to design.

The service is very nice and efficient.

However, some areas really need some renovation. The swimming pool area is made of old concrete, the plastic of the umbrellas is so old that it has dirt stains, the sunbeds have seen many rain seasons...

It remains a good place to stay. You also have to note that this hotel is sold moslty by tour operators.

Great for families but not for 'peace and quiet'

by TripAdvisor Member SuzyB10

This hotel had great rooms, (large suite type) and facilites and was spotlessley clean. The restaurant had a reasonable choice of Thai and European Food of good quality. There were loads of sunbeds and pool area looked great (we didn't use it).
Whilst we were staying there were quite a few families with small children.
The only down side for us was that it was not particularly peaceful. This is because every evening in the bar there was a duet, playing western songs, quite loudly. Most evenings there was an advertised event, local dancing etc. It wasn't possible to have a quiet meal in the restaurant as they played western music (mostly ABBA) again it was slightly intrusive. However within a short walk there is a host of other quieter and cheaper places to eat. Overall a great place if peace and tranquility is not important to you.

Aonang - Krabi

"Krabi Thai Village Hotel"

Located 5-10 minutes walk from Aonang city centre. Very nice and clean hotel with friendly staff. Beautiful garden. We lived 3 persons in a standard double room, spacious enough. I would like to know the idea behind the "french window" between the bathroom and the bedroom, though. Very hard mattresses.

Is that the Krabi Thai Village? If so I stayed there and had a fantastic time - the rooms are beautiful! better than a lot of 5 star hotels! It is about a 10 minute walk to Ao Nang beach, or you could get a tuck tuck for a small amount (I cant remember what).

Best holiday I ever had!
