Hi Lee,

Thanks for the info. Hope the price remains cos I was quoted by the reservations dept. of Holiday Inn Phi Phi at 2600.00 per person per way. That is costly.

That's probably by speedboat or some other private enterprise.

I paid around 1,100THB last two years ago on high speed boat for one day trip included a box of lunch & non-alcohol drink. Check with travel agency at Ao Nang.
Warning: this time of the year, please check the current weather before you get onboard.
On Tuedays, August 21, 2007. A ferry boat carried 38 passengers & 4 crews was turnovered by the high wave storm on route to Phi Phi Island from Krabi.
Luckily! the rescued team saved their life.

Sitthi

Hi,

2600 baht is so expensive but they may give you an extra offer :-)

Beginning of this year, I bought one day trip ticket to Phi Phi (by speed boat) from "Frank Tour"; the agency tour at "@KRABI PURA" guesthouse which located in town nearby the traffic police box and beside the Krabi River. It costed 1500 baht per person including hotel transfer, english speaking guide, snokling + life jacket, insurance, restaurant lunch, fruit and drinks.

If I remember correctly, oneway to Phi Phi + hotel transfer is 350 baht (the new port is quite far from the city, if you buy from other agency, make sure that the transfer is already included). You'd better ask for the return ticket with open return date coz more flexible and cheaper.

Hi,
Just returned from Krabi 2 days ago and the weather is quite unpredictable. The waves are really choppy and raining heavily at certain times on the day we went to Phi Phi. But the weather on 4-island trip we went a day before was great.

Low Peak price at this time of the year probably would be about $250 for the ferry as we had an offer $750-$800 THB on high speed boat, full day tour including snorkelling apparatus, buffet lunch, bottled water/coke. Just book latest the day before at one of the tour agencies along Ao Nang Beach

From/to airport and city or Ao nang beach

by Sambawalk

From airport, there is a taxi/transport booth where you buy ticket to go to various places near Krabi, including Phuket. it costs 600 by taxi to Ao nang beach. 500 baht to Karbi city. I chose shuttle minivan which costs 200 baht per pax. You need to purchase the ticket at the taxi/transport counter after you pick up your lugguage.

From Ao nang beach, it costs 500 baht to airport, or from Krabi city, 350 baht to airport. You may be able to bargain for a lower rate. For me, I got a free lift from a local Thai who extended his hospitality.

See pic for a sample of the taxi ticket.

Eden Restaurant

by Cathy&Gary

Eden restaurant is located on the beach road Ao Nang.
The restaurant is beautiful and the staff are very professional, attentive and helpful.
Their prices are reasonable as well.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals except for the kebab entrees which were so over cooked they were nearly inedible.

The deep fried ice cream was delicious and such a huge serve, so of course I shared it with my sister Angie!

We would definitely go back to Eden Restaurant but would not order kebabs again!

Ao Nang Beach

by vigi

Relaxed and unhurried, Ao Nang, is surrounded by spectacular scenery.
Picture majestic cliffsm and swaying palms. Near to shops and bars. Water was more chill and cleaner than Noppharat Thara Beach, however, there're many shells and dead corals on the beach, making the sand not as smooth as Noppharat Thara. Saw only one sales person selling jewellery on the beach, and about 5 tourists in total on the beach. No suntan chair and stuff, pretty quiet and nice place to relax and chill out.

Wat Tahm Seua

by mary2u99

The story goes that a Buddhist monk, Jumnean Seelasettho who wanted to meditate in the caves in the 1960s and at that time, he discover tigers roaming around, hence the name Tiger Cave. Inside the cave there are discovery of tiger paw imprints.

Wat Tahm Seua is known as a center for meditation with its 1,000 year old trees, and the best viewpoint of Krabi. We did not climb as it’s about 1,237 steps leading up the hill to a Buddhist memorial complete with a huge Buddha and numerous stupas and a chedi.
