Remember the sunscreen
by Gard
I don't tan very well...actually I get red as a lobster. Well, this time we travelled in September and I was hoping that the Norwegian summer would have given me some sort of tan. But I got fried pretty quickly in the sun at Krabi.
Cruise from Krabi(Ao Nang or Railay) to Phuket
by Patszac
Well, this is very cool tips for me but you might think it's a bit expensive! For going to Phuket, I'd recommand you to go there with the ship. The latest one will leave Railay around 2.30pm and it take one and a half house to reach Phuket so you can enjoy the view of beautiful sea around! The cruise one way costs only 450 Baht. If compare to Taxi from Ao Nang to Phuket, it's much more cheaper!
Luna Beach Bar
by Cathy&Gary about Luna Beach Bar
Luna Beach Bar has a beachfront dance floor and is at the southern end of Noppharat Thara Beach
We called into this bar one afternoon for a drink; however it was not open, though we could still walk in and have a look around.
This is a very interesting looking place.
We have since heard the place fills up after midnight, has a Thai disco atmosphere, pool tables and mainly caters for the younger crowds.
This bar is located on the beach in front of the Ao Nang Buri Resort, Krabi Nopparat Resort and Srisuksant Resort.
Its just after the bridge from Ao Nang.
A new addition is the Luna Seafood Restaurant which is next door to the bar.
Chicken Island (Koh Gai/Kai or Hua Khwan)
by mary2u99
Chicken Island got its name from a bizarre rock spire formation which resembles the head of a chicken. This island consists of steep cliffs, while the other end has beautiful beaches along a peninsula.
It looks more like a turkey neck than chicken to me though. We stop here for snorkeling. I have to say most of the corals are dead and not much to see except a few colorful fish. Masks are provided.
Hot Spring
by mary2u99
This thermal spring pools enriched by natural mineral salts in a shaded rain forest is ideal for bathing and soothing aching muscles.
It was nice to enjoy natural "hot-tub Jacuzzi" filled with running spring water at 35°c-40°c.
There are many 'bathtubs' like pools which are caused by the running water from the thermal springs.
