Rooms: Most of the rooms here are bungalow style. We stayed in a “Delux Cottage”, which was plenty large for two people and could probably accommodate three. The A/C worked great, however the bathroom, while not filthy, could be cleaner. Facilities: There is a tourist office that will book activities for you, though I think they’re paid recommend certain companies. The pool is right on the beach, and has a nice view of West Railay and the sea. The restaurant is about average compared to others in the area. Service: Compared to the great service I experienced at other Thai hotels, the staff here was rather ambivalent and detached. With the exception of a couple people, the workers here weren’t very friendly. Transportation note: The only way to and from Railay is by long tail boat. The quickest way from Krabi is to take a songthaew (pickup taxi) to Ao Nammao (10 minutes, 20 baht/50 cents), then a long tail boat to Railay (15 minutes, about 50 baht/$1.25). ALWAYS make a reservation with the hotel for the RETURN long tail trip to avoid getting stranded. Also, I would arrange airport transportation with the hotel to avoid complications upon your arrival. Cost: Low season (May to October) - $30-$100/night High season (November to April) - up to twice the cost.
Bottom-line: I wouldn’t call this place much of a resort or a spa, but it does provide decent accommodation at an excellent location.
