Ao Nang Beach
by vigi
Next, we checked out this another famous beach of Krabi: Ao Nang. this beach is much smaller than Noppaharat Thara, near to shops, restaurants and bars. Water was more chilly and cleaner than Noppharat Thara Beach, however, there're many shells and dead corals on the beach, making the sand not as smooth as Noppharat Thara. Saw only one sales person selling jewellery on the beach, and about 5 tourists in total on the beach. No suntan chair and stuff, pretty quiet and nice place to relax and chill out. Not sure if you can do rock climbing here, but the scenery was awesome... rock + sun + sea + sand + waves + palms... typical Krabi!
Amazing Views

When walking to Hat Tham Pra Nang Beach you will find a sign that will tell you to bring your climbing equipment. If you don't care to get a little dirty from the red clayish mud and are wanting to break a sweat you can climb this cliff. You can hike up the cliff and go down it as well to find a hidden lagoon or else just head up to the top and turn right to the beautiful viewpoints. Just be careful if you plan to venture down to the lagoon becuase it is not for the inexperienced climbers, in which I found out for myself, it was definatley a little bit of a challenge. There are ropes to help you, but they don't help too much, I found that to hold and grab onto the vines and roots were easier. Well I never made it all the way down to the lagoon but saw a corner of it! We ended up going to the viewpoints. Which are spectacular. You can see clearly the west and east beach, it is so gorgeous. I definatley recommend hiking up and getting a little dirty and a great work out to see these views.
half a pinneapple and water
by j-san about roadside
sweet juicy pinneapple everyday, 10Baht on the street and upto 30baht on the beach. The beach is never more than a minute away so i got mine before i went. The water is 5baht in the Ocean Mart just up the road, or 10baht on the beach and in the cafes. This water is FINE!! I drank liters of it everyday as would anyone else sensible. There is no need to pay 5x as much for the imported brands.
Boat Trip Around The Islands in Thai Longboat
by alvis
Rent a traditional Thai longboat boat driven by a local Thai who brings you round all the most popular islands such as Chicken Island (rock structure shaped like chickens head) and many more beautiful Islands and beaches. Should cost no more than 1000 baht for a 3 hour trip and a bit extra for snorkelling equipment which is well advised.
Great experience you'll want to do it everyday.
Ko Dam Kwan and Ko Mor
by gib157
One of the islands we stopped off at on the snorkelling/island tour was this. It is Ko Dam Kwan island joined by a sandbar to two very small islands. It creates a very beautiful scene that my picture does not show show well. It is very surreal to be walking on a shallow sandbar with waves laping at your feet from both sides. Unfortunately, as on KO Poda close by, tourists hadnt bothered to clean up after themselves and the beach wa sa bit littered.
