Just came back from the hotel last week. I'm sure that Sheraton has one of the best secluded beach compare to other hotels in Krabi.
PP Island trip for diving is one of my memorable trip too.
The free coffee beverage in the room was very good .It consists of freshly grounded thai coffee powder packed in a paper filterbag. The ground floor room is also large with a small patio overlooking a garden lanscaped like a rainforest, hence every morning you can wake up to songs of birds. We had a king size bedwhich is very comfortable.
I understand that the hotel rates are above average as this is a 5 star internatinal resort chain. However we paid approx US$450 per pax for Hongkong to Krabi return plus 3 nights stay and free transfer to n fro airport. This is a super deal booked thru a Hongkong travel agent, maybe because end of octocber still within the off peak period.
.
Unique Quality: The hotel bildings have clean lines and look like Zen inspired architecture .The buildings are all interconnected with walkway bridges transversing the mangrove swamps thus leaving nature at it's finest.Lots of green spaces beautifully maintained.
The beach is very private.
This hotel has nice architecture and I spose one of the better places to stay in Krabi. Rooms are nice and staff are really friendly. Great place to relax and unwind away from city-ish activities.
Unique Quality: This hotel has a resident baby elephant - Baby Rara. My kids absolutely adore her. Guests are welcome to join her daily bath session in the sea - she can carry you on her back and you can jump off into the water. Was a lot of fun!
We stayed at this hotel for 3 days on March, we loved it ! the service is fantastic! it is approx.12 km form Aonang
Unique Quality: the pool is great & the beach front is private, there is a cheap restaurant also on the seaside near the hotel.
While this hotel has some lovely staff and nice facilities, it is about 15 minutes from Ao Nang beach and all the shops etc. There are a few local stores nearby and some nice local restaurants right across the road.
Unique Quality: A great new swimming pool ! Ask for 'Ay' at watersports, he is really great value!

Situated in the exotic province of Krabi, Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort enjoys a beachfront location on the 1.8-kilometer Klong Muong Beach.
After a 2 weeks tour in Thailand we took some days to relax at the Sheraton Krabi. The default hotel our travel agency gave us was different but we decided to pay more and update to the Sheraton. It was well spent money.
We had a wonderful neat room with a great bed (pillows were top notch). The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. The swimming pool, were we spent most of the time, was small but very clean and there was a very nice view from it.
There weren't many guests at the time, so we found it relaxing and quiet, just what we were looking for at the end of our intense trip.
There is this tiny spa inside the hotel. I never used its facilities because they were extremely expensive to me (and even more after getting the same treatments in Bangkok for half the price). Instead, we walked to a near area with a few shops and we got a massage there. They made us have the worst 2 hours of the trip with that massage, but the day after we were like new :)
Disadvantages? I didn't find any that I can remember 6 months later so I guess none of them were really important.
We stayed at the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort for two weeks in November 2005. It was fantastic. A beautiful resort on a secluded beach. Great service, friendly staff, delicious food and a beautiful beach and pool.
GENERAL
The resort is set on a secluded beach about 15 drive north of Ao Nang and about 25 minutes north of Krabi Town. It is quiet in the area around the hotel, which is great for people looking to spend time relaxing and unwinding, yet it is convenient to travel to the surrounding sights. The hotel runs shuttle busses to Ao Nang and Krabi Town.
This is a resort aimed mainly at couples and honeymooners who come to sit by the pool and unwind. Although there were child minding facilities, there were not many families at the resort.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone you walk past will give you smile and greeting. Upon check-in you are given cold face towels and cold lemongrass tea. They also bring you face towels and cold water by the pool.
ROOMS
The rooms are standard layout and style to most Sheraton hotels. Each has all of the amenities you would expect from (mini-bar, hairdryer, AC, couch, robes & slippers etc). Each room also has its own balcony. The hotel is built in a national park area and they have kept the natural habitat intact (therefore the rooms do not have a view of the sea). Each day fresh fruit is put into your room.
We found the room very comfortable to stay in. The mattress was very firm, but it was not uncomfortable to sleep on.
RESTAURANTS AND FOOD
There are three main restaurants in the hotel. Geckos (the hotel’s ‘signature’ restaurant) which has open air formal dining, Mangosteens which serves buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and The Deck (poolside) which serves lighter lunches and dinners (pizzas, pastas sandwiches etc) as well as poolside cocktails.
We found Geckos to be very pricey by Thai standards; however Mangosteens and The Deck were very reasonable. Room service food was also very cheap.
There are also a few Thai restaurants around the hotel. The best was the restaurant right next to the hotel on the beach front. It has very cheap dishes and good cheap beers (US$0.50 cent beers and US$3 curries). Many people from the hotel ate lunch and dinner at this restaurant.
POOLS
The hotel has one large ‘infinity’ pool. It is really beautiful. The water at the beach is warm and is great for swimming. Beach chairs are placed all around the pool and along the beachfront.
You can sign out fresh beach towels each day. Waiters also serve drinks and food to all areas where there are beach chairs. Drinks were pretty reasonable (cocktails were about US$5).
ENTERTAINMENT - TOURISM
Although not in the centre of a major town, we found that the hotel was a great place from which to travel around the Krabi region. You can take a long tail boat from right in front of the hotel to Ao Nang, Railay beach and the surrounding islands (US$40 per day to hire the boat). The hotel also organises other trips. We did the Phi Phi island tour by speed boat (we would highly recommend this trip). The hotel also has other activities (sailing, volleyball etc).
Every day the hotel’s baby elephant (RaRa) takes a swim in the beach in front of the hotel. The handlers give you fruit to feed to him.
This is primarily a relaxation hotel – think sitting by the pool with a cocktail and a good book, doing only the occasional day trip. If you are looking for a hotel in the centre of town, to do lots of activities, or you get bored easily, you should split your time between here and Phuket.
CONCLUSION
We really enjoyed our time at the Sheraton Krabi. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. We will definitely return to this hotel.

Hi, we are booked into the Sheraton Krabi over Christmas (my xmas present :-))
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or recommendations about activities at that location, also what to avoid. We will be coming from Phuket and I may hire a car, so getting around should not be a problem. Suggestions/recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Jerry
Certainly take a boat trip up river to the caves - boats depart from the main little jetty. It's about an hour's trip (I think!) or you can add an extra hour and go through the village built on the banks of the river and out to the rivermouth - lots of birds etc. I think it was 2 hours in total (but may have been 3).
Krabi utself is not that exciting - should head out to Ao Nang and the beaches there. Great place to get boats to the other islands for day trips or just go snorkelling. YOu can also get the boat to Phi Phi from Krabi.
Enjoy.
There are lots of activities you can do around Klong Muang. You will need to travel around maybe by taxi or motorbike if you enjoy the sun. You can go elephant trekking or rock climbing in Railay. You can also rent a Kayak, visit the small island around Aonang or even go to Koh Phi Phi or James Bond Island in a boat trip. The hotel or small tour agencies will be able to give you all the information you will need after your arrival. Good holiday in perspective !
Many thanks, leffe and caria, and Orchid, for your advice. Now, I'm just hoping for great weather to see all the placed you recommended.
Cheers,
Jerry
Say hello to the baby elephant at the Sheraton Krabi for us. It goes for a walk along the beach at 10.00am each morning and then goes for a swim in the ocean at 2pm. You get to swim alongside and have a ball. Right next door the the Sheraton on the beach is a great little restaurant. Great food and very cheap. They also have a little open air massage centre there as well which is much cheaper then the Sheraton. Have fun.

A great new swimming pool ! Ask for 'Ay' at watersports, he is really great value!
