Andaman Sunset Resort (Wanna's Place) is a great place to stay in Krabi. We have stayed here quite a few times over the last few years and were pleasantly surprised as we were not really expecting much due to their cheap rates.
We paid 1250baht per night, this was in low season and if you stay 4 nights then you only pay for 3. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant, swimming pool, beautiful lush tropical gardens and balcony rooms or bungalows which are the same price.
We have stayed in both and much prefer the bungalows. They are bigger and have an extra bed so great for families. The balcony rooms were nice as well and have lovely views but were just a bit to noisy for us.
The location is perfect, you are surrounded by restaurants and shops and straight over the road is the beach. We will definitely stay here again next year.

Another fantastic day we had was to hire a long tail boat for 5 hours.
This cost 900baht and we booked the day before from the guys just over from Wannas Place.
Now the water had been flat as a tack for our first couple of days so of course the day we went in the long tail had to be when the waves had picked up, they don’t look big in the photos but it was an effort getting into the boat which was tipping from side to side.
Our drivers name was Sonne and his boat number is 49, he was such a lovely guy and very helpful.
We went to Poda, Chicken and Tup Islands. I have seperate tips for each of these places.

Ideas on Hotels in Krabi
by nusabali
Hi Vters,
Will be visiting Krabi 31Jan - 03Feb 2008. Its the super high season in Krabi and hotel rates are really expensive. Can anyone suggest or give us some ideas of any reasonable price, nice clean hotel in Ao Nang area for triple room?
Any comments on Krabi La Playa Resort? Since our stay is just a few days, will it be a hassle if we choose to stay at the Holiday Inn Phi Phi island.

The best Western Ao nang Resort is only about B 2,150 even at that time of high season which is very good value, so you can get a nice place on krabi. Book a twin and then just pay the nominal extra bed charge, it's a good place to stay and good value for that price in high season.
I agree, try www.beachsiam.com/hotels.html
