Hi,

so I guess you meant Phang Gna Bay as your target sightseeing destination , as you mebntioned islands?

Since I presonally prefer more deserted place, which are not crowded with 100's of tourist, the below erflect such my perferrences :)

I believe the best base to explore the Bay is the Koh Yao island. This is fisherman village isalnd with not much developed tirist busines there ,just two hotels there. I like a lot Paradise Koh Yao resort , see. www.theparaidise.biz . From there you can take individual tours by speedbaot to any dierctions, stop at islets you liek for lunch, snoreklling, sleeping at the beach etc. The sights are stunning indeed ! :) And differrent colours of sea water too . On the islnads itself nyou can take island tour - island is not so small, youy'll tarditioanl lifestyle and nature, which is not so much consumed by development there.

From Koh Yao you can get either to Phanga Gna side ( I 'd recommend to avoid James Bond is. - hundreds and hundreds tourist there on any single day,and teh rock itself not so much different that you'd find in the area around hundreds of islands). Then you can surely to Krabi direction ,where a lot of inice island slocated , or you can go to Phi Phi , which I don't like so much for the same reasin - Phi Phi Don is. is lacking of good becahes itself and overcrowded, and famous Phi Phi Lay is. and Maya bay lagoon noramlly have 25-40 speedbaots parked on the shore , which move in/out every 1-2 min .

I am not sure what about distnace and available larger boats rentals or excursions to East side that incl. Koh Muk ( Emereld Cove), Koh Ngai, Koh rok Nok and diving destination Hin Laed. These islands are better accessible from Koh Lanta is., from where you can easily get to these islands. Koh Lanta itself is very very nice island with varios long (still not so much crowded) beaches and other natural atraction on the island.

You need to note that all speedboats trip a bit pricey , it can get easily 50 USD/ pp for short excursion, and surely much more if you taking long ride, but it pays off as you flexible. You can do as well cayaking in teh Bay, but on teh limited distances, e.g. around Koh Yao.

If you are interested in what I decsribed and have any further questions, then please let me know.

Best regards,
Sergey

How to get there: Koh Yao pick you up at e.g. Phuket or Krabi airport and then bring you for appr. 1h ride to the island - teh jorney is VERY spectacular itself. Koh lanta you acn reach from Karbi airport either by land ( 2h) or land transportaion + partly boat , if particular ersort provides that - that part of trip is very nice too. You can get to Koh Lanta as well from Trang airport (the same like from Krabi) or from Phuket ( take aferry via Phi Phi, make lunch , but skip one outward boat to Koh Lanta - you'll have 2-3 hours, which are enough to go to Phi Phi Lay tour and have a lunch ).

BR,
Sergey
