With very few places to stay in Phang-Nga Bay,
one might decide to stay
at the Phang-Nga Bay Resort.
Well, after all....
the photos that they use to market it
seem to be of better days and very long time ago.
As you approach the building which,
is quite a distance away from the town,
the erosion and lack of maintenance is obvious.
But after visiting a few other places
in this town where,
there is not much of an option,
we basically had no other choice.
This was as good
as it was going to get.
At the reception,
practically no English was spoken.
We went up the old elevator,
to visit the room in hope for a positive contrast
from the exterior of building.
The rug was in the room was dirty
and discolored from the sun.
The cheap mattresses was years old,
which I knew I would later pay with a sore back.
There was only Thai TV available,
but the bathroom and sheets were clean.
When it came to making a phone call,
they insisted it was impossible;
until my mother bribed them with cash
to be able to use the one in the office.
Unique Quality: Breakfast was the greatest disappointment of them all!
Super sugary so-called orange juice,
canned sausages or hot dogs,
packaged ham, oily eggs, and
coffee with some king of residue
We decided to skip the breakfast at the end.
What can I say....
but thank God for the boat tour
that we had in Phang-Nga Bay.
It helped forget the discomfort
of lodging in this town.
