Nice but far away from most activities
This is a reasonable 4* resort on Naithon Beach. The resort deco and landscaping are both quite nice but the location is simply too too far away from Patong Beach and Phuket Town.
If you plan to just relax by the beach(small deserted beach) or your room or just at the spa... this is probably an ok choice.... but if you plan to experience other parts of Phuket... I will not recommend this place.
We stayed in a sea view villa(more like a room than villa) which overlooks the sea. We find that it's better than the beachfront villas. The whole resort is small with only 40+ rooms and it's the only resort on Naithon beach... so at nite, it can be quite deserted.

Resorts in Phuket - recommendations?
My wife and I are taking our first trip to Thailand next month, and we are spending the last few days of the trip in Phuket. We are looking for recommendations for nice resorts on Phuket - nice rooms, nice white beaches, not overly crowded, yet not too far from entertainment and restaurants. Looking to spend no more than US $140/night (5600 baht).
We've received conflicting reports on a lot of things, and are quite confused. It's been recommended we stay in the north, avoid the north, stay in the south, stay close to Patong, stay on Patong, stay far away from Patong. Hard to figure all that out. :)
We're currently considering Kata Thani and JW Marriott, but have been unable to determine if either is a good choice, based on location. Thoughts?
Any input or recommendations would be appreciated.

Phuket has a vast range of places to stay, so it's quite easy to be bewildered by it all - there's a good summary of the many beach areas on:

which you may find useful. Phuket.com also lists most of the better hotels available - although you may well get better prices elsewhere.
The JW Marriott looks like it's a self-contained resort - ie it'll be a bit of a drive to anything outside of the hotel. Kata Thani is on Kata Noi beach, which is very quiet, and there's not that much there bar the resorts. Both are likely to be nice places, but probably won't fit your other requirements for things to do nearby.
Patong is ugly, very commercial, and the beach can get crowded - it has lots of restaurants, (mostly sleazy) nightlife, some good hotels and reasonable shopping. Stay there if you're happy with a fairly urban environment.
If you want to be able to walk out of your hotel to a choice of restaurants, Kata or Karon beaches are probably your best bet. Keep looking, I'm sure you'll find something that suits...

May I suggest Andaman White Beach Resort in the northern part of Phuket... Wow! It is nice! 4-5 stars hotel and they have a long stay promotion starting in may so you may get lucky with it...
Price is around 90 dollars/room/night with bkfst...
If you stay 10 days, you pay only 7...
