 | | | | Holiday Inn Resort Phuket: Busakorn Wing, Holiday Inn Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
If you're going to stay in Patong, then the Holiday Inn is a great place to stay. It's a short walk from the centre of town, and just across the road from the beach. However, it's far enough away from the nightlife to be virtually noise free - I had no problems sleeping at all. The hotel is split into 2 parts - the main wing, which is pretty nice, and the Busakorn wing, which is more modern, and built around a fancy swimming pool and looks great. It wasn't much more for the Busakorn when I booked so that's what we went for. The room was good, the only real drawback was that there was no bathtub - only a (pretty deluxe) shower. Apart from the slightly frosty reception staff, everyone was friendly including the numerous security guards. One unusual thing was that the minibars were empty and there were 2 shops on the premises to buy drinks etc - at reasonable prices - a great idea! We ate in quite a bit - as the food was really good, although if you're looking for really spicy Thai food you may want to head out to a restaurant. Update: After the damage from the 2004 tsunami, the hotel was completely refurbished. While the Busakorn wing now looks much the way it was, the main wing took a bit more damage at the time and has had more extensive renovation - all now finished - and should be even better than it was prior to the tsunami. | | | | Phuket Island Pavilion Hotel: Best SPA & Massage ever had~! Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
I didn't have chance to live in the Evason but went there for a spa treatment after searching on web and found that it has the best location for outdoor massage. Six Senses Spa is a luxury spa in Evason Phuket Resort, at a quiet south eastern side of Phuket near Rawai Beach. Individual and couple treatment rooms are availible. The most spectacular feature, and the reason why i choose to have my spa here, is the 4 treatment sala set on the spa terrace facing the Andaman Sea, as shown on the picture. I had my polish and facial in a indoor room and my massage at one of the open sala. It was really amazing... you hear birds singing.. you feel the cool breeze, you see the Andaman Sea, the lotus pond, you smell the essence oil, you feel the great hands massaging your body.. so relaxing that my boyfriend actually felt asleep.
Besides the tremendous environment, the technique of the theropists were of high quality too.. it was the best massge i even had.. but of cuz.. all of the above reflect on the price i paid..... -_-" truely a once in a life time experience.. cuz i dont think i would ever gonna pay that much of $$ for that again.. Next time I might try and stay in Evason as it's located in a quiet corner of Phuket, but the downside is.. I couldn't get any night life.. | | | | Seabreeze Inn: Quiet, friendly, and close enough to the action | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
I have stayed here twice now and both times I have found the rooms, staff, food and service to be very good. It's a little bit cheaper than staying in Patong but it is definitely quieter in the mornings. You don't really hear a thing around the village of Karon beach until about 11am or so as nothing really opens here until about then. Karon beach has a more friendly and laid back feel to it compared to Patong beach and this hotel is no exception. Air-conditioned double rooms are available and they are very cool, quiet and comfortable. If you are on the top floor though it is a very good workout to get up there, but for the money you save, and the overall feel of the place it's worth it. I recommend it particularly to young couples or singles.
The cooler than average rooms plus the staff, food and service here make it a great place to stay. You can have access day and night without any drama and visitors are welcomed. Good for the budget traveler. | | | | Patong Bay Garden Resort: Best for the beach and nightlife | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
Update 2007 - This year they have started serving breakfast in the Baan Kamnan Restaurant which is the beach restaurant. During 2004 they increased the number of rooms by adding a third floor. All the rooms have been refurbished. Sadly the tsunami destroyed some of the ground floor rooms, but they got that damage repaired during early 2005. This is a relatively small hotel, 71 rooms ranging from "city view" rooms to some much nicer suites overlooking either the pool or Patong Beach. They do have some Andaman Suites that are right on the beach which are the most expensive rooms. However I do not like these as much as the pool side junior suites. The Andaman roms are on a split level which which makes no point to me as it wastes space and these rooms are not that big to start with. One new improvement is that there is now wi-fi access in the lobby and some rooms. There is also an Internet room, but the local Internet cafes are cheaper (either 1 or 2 Baht per minute is the usual price in the cafes) There are two restaurants now, the main one at the front of the hotel, Le Casa, serves very good Italian fare in the evenings. Lunch is served in Baan Kamnan on the beach and you can also get seafood and Thai dishes here in the evening. I have stayed here 8 times since 1999 I hope to return again in 2007. Being a regular customer means I get my junior suite (poolside) at a very good rate, but due to its location this hotel is expensive by Thai standards. However that can be said for most places in Patong on Phuket.
The main reason why I like this hotel so much is its location. It is right on the beach, whereas most other places are on the wrong side of the beach road. It is also right in the centre of Patong less than 100 metres from Soi Bangla. So it is a few paces from my bed to the pool or beach and only a few more to the bars and restaurants.
