We have just returned from Ban Thai hotel after staying 10 days.
The hotel was fair enough, the staff another problem..We arrived at 10 30pm, told our room wan't ready, but they would find us a room, which took a while. Then was told this room was temporary and our booked room would be ready by 10am the next day.10 am comes round, no call from reception to get us to our room, rang the front desk, communication shocking, the staff can hardly speak English, eventually we were told room would be ready 2 pm. This meant we had to vitually lose 3/4 of the day hanging around in our room, we could hardly unpack before we were certain of our room becoming available.2pm comes no phone call, by now Iam livid, call reception , they can't understand english ,mutter I should come to reception to talk to some one who could help us.I visit the village idiot, he says, "are you happy with the present room as the room you booked is still not available." Well, i saw red, blew my top, did not fazzle them one iota..We then stayed in tht room for the rest of our time there.NoApologies, Night mare contiued.. read on .I asked for a late check out to 6pm, no problem i was informed, just pay 8000 bart, $A298, but 4000 will be ok, thats $A148 Australian, Did'nt happen, spoke to customer guest supervisor, they said thats it, or wait in lobby for 6 hours, which we did.(.no way would we pay the full day rate @$A298 even with 50% discount. $A148 till 2pm...WAS OFFERED But stick it I told them.. Very disapointed -----

Unique Quality: Room not bad, cleaning of room was only a very quick lick over each day, front verandah, never cleaned.. Bathroom, bath much too high for somebody who might have difficulties climbing high sides... Had to repeatably ask for shampoo etc daily , ice tray never set the ice blocks.. Breakfest not much variety over 9 days, butter was rank, could smell it with out even unwrapping it, not kept on ice either, very runny (soft) when touched.. the best of breakfest was the staff who cooked the eggs daily, a most happy young man.. plenty to eat though if you liked the same same each day.. Staff should be better trained in Engilsh, it would avoid complications I'm sure ..
Pool nice, very slippery on 5 or so steps on going into pool, the attendant on duty was a chap named "Jump" a very helpful young man, he was the only of the staff worth tipping generouly at the end of our stay..
Directions: GOOD LOCATION NOTHING ELSE WILL GET ME BACK THERE..
