    Didn't actually stayed at the Banyan tree as I was there alone, and most of the rooms were villas. Booked a spa package there though. On the pricey side, but a good one-time experience for me. You enjoy the massage in an open air room with banana trees and trickling water to soothe your mind. You can choose fthe soft, medium or hard style of massage (I chose the medium but looking back, I should have gone for the hard one). At the end of it, you relax with ginger tea and dried fruits. The service is excellent!!

    Excellent service, well scaped gardens and grounds to make you feel as though you were cut off from the rest of the world.

  • 1st day after 10 mins of check in : TV not working, sliding door to ourdoor jacuzzi was broken, had to wait for 1 hr before they can change another villa for us, though they upgrade us to a villa with a pool 2nd day : 1030pm : wanted to use the DVD player can't work, after checking they didn't even have a cable to connect the DVD player to the TV. We have to tidy the room so we won't want our private belongings to be exposed to the service guys. 3rd day : front desk called me at 12 and 1225 twice to ask me check out and even said guests were waiting at the lobby which in fact my booking was via a special internet package whereby late check out was given till 3pm. Though the resident manage was aware of all these bad experiences, he didn't even offer us a free transport to the airport, he just said he will arrange something for our next visit as we are having a 2nd trip in May. We feel this so called best spa resort in Phuket lacks its sincerity in making up to its guest, truly disappointed afterall we have so high hopes on this hotel from so many positive reviews before we go and stay.

  • I was told by my taxi driver that when Thaksin(Thailand's Prime Minister) or other dignitaries visit Phuket, they will either stay at Banyan Tree or Amanpuri and these are the best resorts in Phuket. WE booked ourselves into a jacuzzi villa... though it's the most basic of all the villas available at the resort, it is by no means basic. The villa is large with a garden area where there is an private outdoor jacuzzi and deck chairs. There is a sunken bath and separate shower rooms, twin sinks (his & her sinks). In the lounge area, there is also a DVD/VCD player, TV, reading material. Very luxurious and relaxing...

  • It's our 2nd stay at a banyan tree resort and after having a good time at 2 banyan tree resorts.... we are tempted to go to the others too. We spent 2 nites at the beautifully landscaped resort. Banyan Tree Phuket is part of the Laguna Phuket resort area where there are 5 luxury resorts including Sheraton Grande Laguna, Dusit Laguna, Laguna Beach Resort, Allamanda Phuket. There is some interesting history about the resort where you can read about in the coffee table books available in your room. Apparently, the area now occupied by the resorts used to be a tin mining waste land. If you look at the resort areas now, you can never guess that! There is a free shuttle and a resort boat that can take you to the other 4 resorts in the Laguna area and you can make use of the facilities for a fee. The good service and attention to details are characteristics I have come to expect of the Banyan tree resorts, and I was not disappointed. The resort is well equipped with a pool, spa, tennis courts, library, gym, golf course, DVD/VCD library and a few restaurants.
