    • I would go for the Best Western Premier, I haven't stayed at Bangtao Village but the reviews area ok:

    Note the rates drop about 20% from 21st January ! It is cheaper than the Best Western, depends on your budget

    We first stayed our first night in Patong Beach area and were very dissapointed with our choice of "cheap" lodge/motel sort off which left my wife totally spooked off being alone in the room and Patong was a bit too noisy for us. All those massage ladies saying "Hello Welcome". Found the complimentary map by Airports of Thailand and saw this beautiful picture of Best Western's Bangtao Beach Resort. The resort is at the same beach as all the other "high grade" hotels such as Laguna Phuket, Sheraton, Dusit, The Chedi and Banyan Tree. We called in and got a 2 nights stay for one night if we bought the next day's breakfast.

    It was totally a great deal. The room was lovely with the view of the Bangtao Beach. There are 2 big swimming pools and a SPA which wasn't really that expensive. Anyway, do try them out as they are having a promotion for the off season up to end of October I think. Staff were extremely friendly.

    Excellent if you prefer a more quiet stay at Phuket with all facilities that you can think about. Wonderful swimming pools. Choose a free style pool or the regular rectangular kinds.

    Great view of the beach. Private beach access cause located right at the beach. I'd say its great value for money.

  • Directions: About 15 minutes drive from Patong Beach or 30 minutes from Phuket international airport. Big sign of BW Premier Bangtao as soon as you reach Bangtao Beach Area and as soon as you turn into Surin Beach.

    We stayed for 3 nights in June 2006. Wonderful hotel. Very good beach front hotel and own beach. Well placed facilities 2 big pools, fitness centre, jacuzzi, spa. Courteous and good staff. Highly recommended.

    The hotel is at bangtao beach which is far from the hurly burly of patong beach. Locaoted isnide Bang tao, the hotel is ideal for family outings. If you are looking for a place to relax by the sea and the pool and unwind, this is the place.

    While patong is the place you want to be in because of the night life and high activity beach, you would hardly get a own beach hotel. For thats what BW Premier Bangtao beach resort and Spa offers.

    My guess is stay here and get a car rental. This way you can choose to go whereeverf you want on the island at your own leisure.
