Delightful fragrances and gently flowing water

"Burasari" is a Thai word that evokes a place filled with delightful fragrances and gently flowing water. How lovely. I stayed at the Burasari Patong on my first trip to Phuket in 2004. The next year, I returned to Phuket after the tsunami and also stayed here. You check in at an outdoor reception and facing a beautiful pool with water cascading into in. I've stayed here in total 3 times.

They've upgraded this place from a little place to a fancy boutique. Depending on your budget, you can get a simple room or a fancy suite with a fabulous balcony with a day bed & jacuzzi of sorts. For a bit more money, you can opt for the pool access room where you can walk out into the balcony to chill by the poolside or take a dip anytime you wish. There's free wifi available in the rooms too :)

It's tucked in a quiet corner just opposite the Holiday Inn and in close proximity to most places you wanna be in Patong Beach. The beach is a 5 min walk and the infamous Bangla Road is 15 min away. Far enough to get away from the noise and crowd.

Unique Quality: The Burasari is like a secret in this exciting beach town. It's close to the attractions but still manages to remain a little oasis, quiet & peaceful. There's a travel agent at the corner outside the hotel which can give you great deals on day trips. You can also get a nice Thai massage by the poolside for under USD15 an hour.

I am amazed at the resilience of the Thai people, even after the tsunami, they've managed to pick themselves from the tragedy and rebuild Phuket once again.

Leafy oasis

This was a great find. We stayed in here for 5 days at the end of 6 weeks in SE Asia and were very happy with our choice. Admittedly we were a little worried when we first arrived as the entrance is a driveway (with plenty of cars parked in it!) Once past that however reception was lovely, outdoor with chaise lounges. Our room was lovely with four poster bed, balcony and great bathroom. The pool area was the best part - waterfalls, lounge chairs and no young children! Breakfast was good, as was the lunch buffet for 99 Baht. We had a spa package on our last day and it was worth every cent! The hotel is also we located - opposite the holiday inn hotel and in the shopping district. There were a heap of restaurants literally around the corner.

Boutique hotel in the middle of Patong

This is a lovely hotel in the middle of Patong. A 5 minute to the beach, bars or shops. It's tucked away so you don't have to worry about noise. The rooms are simple, but elegant. Rooms have huge beds. We booked the standard room, which was quite nice. Small bathroom. Shower/tub and a window that links the bathroom to the bedroom. Small balcony, but nice so you can dry your towels or wetsuit on it. From the outside, the pricer rooms seem to have larger balconies. Some rooms have direct pool access. With steps into the pool from your room.

When walking around you have to watch out for the low ceilings. Nice breakfast buffet and the restaurant looks quite good. If you want to stay in Patong, i would stay here. Rooms start around $39USD during the low season. We booked our room through www.hoteltravel.com

An oasis for you!

I stayed at the Burasari with my fiance, and it is a beautiful boutqiue resort, right near the beach and at the less populated end of Patong Beach....great place to stay!! If you want to be right near Bangla Road, this resort may not be your favourite, but we often walked all over Patong Beacha and found it really fun to be able to explore.
There are two luxurious pools, a fantastic buffet breakfast, and the staff are so so nice! It is more of a couples resort, or a resort for the over 18s, although there are children there (it just has a more mature feel to it) and its opposite the Holiday Inn.
Its trendy, gorgeous and a very lovely place to stay

Unique Quality: Lovely decore and designs.
Perfect oasis to relax in

Nice hotel in Patong

This is a bit more expensive than average for Patong, but definitely worthwhile. Nice pool with waterfall, good restaurant, and very nice rooms. Also, it is only about 100m from the beach.

Unique Quality: Quality of service and rooms extremely nice.

Patongs best kept secret

I would definitely recommend this Hotel to travellers and I would also definitely stay here again, without a second doubt. We paid only $80AUD per room per night for the classic room, which is the smallest and cheapest of the rooms at the Burasari, but it is adequate and represents fantastic value for money. That price also included full buffet breakfast for 2 people every day, free wi-fi access for the duration of the stay and ............. THIS IS THE BEST BIT ............. a fully restocked mini-bar each and every day FREE OF CHARGE!!! I have never stayed anywhere that had this deal going!!! Mini-bar consisted of 1 beer, 3 softdrinks, 1 iced tea, 2 waters, chips and oreos!!!

Unique Quality: Location of the Burasari is excellent, at the southern end of Patong Beach, and only a one minute walk to the beach and also one minute walk to Otop Markets. Its about a 10 minute walk to either Bangla Road or Jungceylon Shopping Centre. Its tucked away in a smaller street that connects Ratuthit Road and Beach Road and it is definitely an oasis in the middle of chaotic Patong! And what was so handy was that right next door to the Burasari entrance was a 7-Eleven, making it each and convenient to stock up on little necessities .... like alcohol, chips, etc. Also right next door was a laundry service, where we had 1kg of laundry done for only 50bt which is about $2!!!!!

The room was a decent size, only marginally smaller than the dearer rooms which we looked at. The bathroom is good, with a bath and overhead shower. The bed was HUGE!!! It was actually 2 double beds pushed together and it was enormous, although a bit on the hard side. We had a very small balcony with no view at all, but what do you really expect for $80 a night!!!

The Burasari has 2 pools, and although they are smaller pools with limited deck chairs, they were big enough. Also in your room you were given 2 pool towels clean each and every day.

We did have a look at the Pool Access Rooms which are the most expensive at the Burasari, and whilst they were certainly nicer and larger, we did not really think they were worth changing to, as they were about three times as expensive. The room was marginally larger, the bathroom was about twice the size and the tv was bigger and of course you have access to the pool from your balcony. In Australian standards they still represent great value for money, as they were about $250AUD per night.

Beauty in Phuket

we just got back from the burasari & it is great! I coudnt fault the hotel at all. The only thing negative I would say is that the restaurant in the hotel is expensive, but we didnt eat there so it may be really good & worth it. We had a pool view room with day bed & they look the best. The pool access rooms dont offer much privacy as people swimming can see into your room. Very clean & gardens/pools well maintained. Great breakkie & service is tops. It is just off the beach road, literally 1 minute walk. I had read some neagtive reviews but I didnt have any problems at all, or did anyone we met up with there.

Unique Quality: * Private terraces with day beds are wonderful for lazing around or having a drink/meal on
* 2 Pools, surrounded with plant life

Its okay but has its problems

I stayed at this resort for a week in late February 2007. I had heard mixed reviews on the hotel but the location and look of the hotel was appealing. Cosmetically the hotel is beautiful. The two pools and the constant running water...just the whole look of the hotel is quite pleasing to the eye. The front desk staff were polite and courteous but like so many other resorts in Phuket their English is substandard. There were things that were surprising about this resort such as room service trays not being picked up outside the door for 2 or 3 days, no soap in the room...things like that. I think the problem might be that they are understaffed. The other problem is that its just not a good time to go in February as it is high season and extremely busy for these resorts and they probably don't add more staff for this period. It was a nice hotel but for the price of $120 a night I would probably stay somewhere in Kata Beach where it is a bit less expensive and not as busy.

This was my 3rd stay in Phuket in less than years. Just a tip...unless you like the atmosphere of "Spring Break in Daytona Beach"...don't go to Patong Beach in high season! haha.
