Central Karon Village
by jaypride
Central Karon Village set on the steep hillside right above Karon beach. If you want quiet life but not too far from the exciting patong area, this is your choice. Karon Beach is just 10-mins walk away, and patong is 10-mins tuk tuk away.
Unique Quality: The villas are all sea facing but with the densely growing trees, some villas might not get a very good look at the ocean. The private terrace is large, with sun beds and stuffs for you to relax and enjoy the great view. The sloping pathways and stairs all over the resort will be a real task if you live at the top and u need to go all the way down to the pool and then back up again, but then u can always call for the little cars to take u around but we never did that.

Central Karon Village

Unique Quality: The room is comfortable, with wooden floorboards and huge beds. The yellow bathroom is spacious and with some nice personal touch the fish bowl and a nice plant. Full-length glass windows and doors access to the terrace and the way out is great, and allow you to enjoy the view in the air-conditioned villa.
Both the restaurants, The Cliff and BayView offers great views. Bayview's breakfast is okay with average choice but the relaxing atmosphere is what it is really all about. I've never tried the cliff but i heard that it's kinda expensive.

Unique Quality: The pools are a little bit small, it would be kinda crowded if the hotel's fully booked, but at the time of our stay, not a lot of ppl so we can get some nice seats to get some nice tan.
The staff are all very nice and helpful. Our front door lights and room air-con were always turned on when we came back in the late nite. They initiated help when we encountered some difficult situation with our day-trip travel agent, which are really really nice!!

Ok accom.
by kevin111111
Central Karon Village is set in lush forest on a hill looking towards the sea. It is gorgeous! The accomodation is all villas with air conditioning. There are two pools on kind of terraced levels, and they have a massage spa service down below the pool with the sounds of the waves breaking on the rocks below. This hotel would perfectly suit couples who want a bit more privacy rather than a huge complex resort.
Notes of advice: To get up to top restaurant for breakfast you can call up a tuk-tuk to pick you up, or walk up. If you are lazy, definitely get the tuk-tuk or this hotel will drive you nuts. If you are a fit freak you will probably love the walking. There are shortcuts, so note the map.
The service by the pool is hopeless, or at least it was at that time of year, which is mad because they could have stationed a staff member on it and made more money doing drinks than they do in accomodation. The staff's English at the lower restaurants is pretty poor on the whole (unlike at the top reception) so basically if you want to order food do so 30 mins before you want it and point to a dish on the menu and say "I want this".
Food not too good in terms of prices, although cheaper out of hotel of course, and they do European food like pizzas and burgers and sandwiches, as well as some Thai food. Quality of food is suprisingly good, so go ahead and order. It's not 5 star restaurant food, but cleanly made and pretty damn good.
Karon Beach is an 8 min walk down a track from the hotel, or pay 150 baht (around $3) or less to get a taxi. Karon is a long beach, further down is Kata where you can lie on deck chairs topless and is small and busier. Mon Tri along the end is a great restaurant (and part of a nice hotel).
Taxi to Patong around 200 baht (approx $4). Basically Central Karon Village is a 5 minute drive from most places cheaply, and a lovely refuge to come back to.

Wonderfull Honey moon Bungalows
by virtualasia2006
The hotel offers very classy bungalows stretched on the end of Karon Beach and covering the hill. Mini golf cars can help you reach your bungalow where you can enjoy a private terrasse and mini bar etc... It could be in the Architectural digest as the Decoration is very nice as well. The pool has a great view on the beach (didn t try the spa). The Food is excelent (Breakfast is superb, with a lot of choice) and Thai dinner is mostly recommended. Service is as nice as efficient.
One to recommend, even more if you have the interenet fares (slightly lower) as prices can easyly reach 5,000 baht per night.

Jungle Paradise
by geo7863
Ok so its not exactly in the heart of a Jungle but from your chalet thats what it feels like, and Paradise? well it was honestly the best holiday hotel I have been to.
The tour operator messed up the booking so on the first night there wasn't a chalet available, but the staff at the Central Karon village had everything arranged to see that we had accomodation nearby and one of the managers dealt with everything personally.
The next day when we booked back into the hotel they had a surprise for me, it was my Birthday so the staff had baked a cake and all gathered round to sing happy birthday to me, a very nice surprise.
The accomodation was excellent, OK its not a five star hotel with gold plated bathroom ware, but thas not what we wanted. The chalets are on a steep hill with the access roadway twisting and winding down from the restaurant and reception, and although the chalets are fairly close together, the natuarl plantlife and trees meant that there was a certain feeling of isolation and peacefullness, we could only see two other chalets from our room and balcony, and we looked directly over the swimming Pool, which was lit up at night and gave a marvellous view.
The Pool is a bit smal but we never spent much time there anyhow we were either down in Patong or on Karon beach.
The restaurant is top class, superb food and excellent service, cant say any better really. The bar was good although it did close fairly early, (however there is hotel transport available down to Patong) and made a really good Pina Colada, we had a Pina colada night with two Kiwi girls resulting in, I think, good entertainment for the staff and other guests alike.
I dont normally go to the same holiday resort twice, however the girlfriend and myself will definitely go back to this resort and this hotel, thank you very much for a marvellous time.
Unique Quality: Very friendly staff, quiet peacefull hotel close enough for the hustle and bustle of Patong.

by beccyandjohn
our hotel was on a hill side , with private villas , very nice place to stay the villas are big with all you need ,showers, wc, tv, mini bar, air con ,private balcony, ours was overlooking the beach in karon, the pic is from whare you have your breakfast and also they is a bar here at night, the hills can be very steap and they is alot of steps but they have there own tuk tuk here so it isnt a problem you just ring for a lift,

funny hotel
by susu77
Stayed there in a bungalow for 2 weeks. No breakfast for us, no tv, no closets really. Nice hotel area, location could have been better.
Unique Quality: We stayed there in the end of the season wich abled us to have private after bar poolparties every night.
Hotel was so quiet, felt like we had it on ourselfs. The quard was always asleep when we returned at night. One time tough he came into our friends room with his own keys when the friend was being intimite with a local girl.. That is very strange and unpropiate! Somehow I didnt trust the other workers either. I dont know if it is a custom in Thailand hotels but THEY wanted money from our friends when ever they brought a local girl on a visit..

More about Central Karon Village
Beautiful - Peaceful - Friendly - Tranquil
by TripAdvisor Member JayneGraham
We arrived at the Central Karon Village to be greeted by friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is out of Karon but just a short taxi ride away costing 150 baht's. With the hotel being on a hill the hotel provide a tuk tuk service up and down the lanes allowing you to get to the restuarant / reception and they were always there within minutes. The staff were every so friendly and receptive. This hotel is for the romatics and for people who want a quiet get away, however the towns are only minutes away in a taxi. Breakfast excellent, evening meals were lovely. All the rooms had balconies but as you can imagine the Villas are set within the Jungle so there is bound to be leaves etc.. all over your balcony but this is expected. The rooms could do with a lick of paint but we are coming to the end of the season so all the refurb takes place after April.... Would definetly go back to the Central Karon Village.
Not good...
by TripAdvisor Member Aussies123
This is not a 4 star resort..... Very isolated from Karon. Beach was very dirty. They put us in a single room, we ended up staying two nights only out of our eight nights.... Wouldn't go back. Very tired resort and also very tired employees. I wish I hadn't read the other reviews on this site!

There are different types of villa at Centara Villas. The villa type called "spa" has that name because of the jacuzzi, as opposed to the "pool" villa, that has it's own plunge pool.
