Taking a 5 month old to Phuket
We are planning to take our baby to Phuket in May. He will be 5 months old. Is there any health concerns I should be worried about? Anyone had experience? We are staying at the Moevenpick Resort in Karon Beach. Thankyou

So - have you abandoned the plan mentioned in your post earlier today to go to China? I think with such a young child I would check this one out with your doctor first. After all s/he will know any special problems or susceptibilities your baby may have.

There are number of tailors in Kata. This one made a very nice overcoat in the space of just over 24 hours! It will be great the next time the chilly southerlies strike in Auckland or I'm back in the UK! Suits, overcoats, sports jackets, trousers can made to measure. A little polite bartering is in order before you agree to a price that suits you... (pun intended).
Go-Go Bars
Walking through Patong Beach, men will come up to you with what reads like a menu from a restaurant, with a list of 'items', such as ping pong, cigar, banana, mice, goldfish.....you get the picture. These items are 'inserted' up the girl, and she does various tricks such as 'smoking', 'banana popping', 'pea shooting balloons in the back row' (with amazing accuracy), and she'll even 'sign autographs'. These places are free to go in, you just have to buy drinks. Im sure one menu read 'chicken'? The mind boggles.... There's umpteen Go-Go bars and once you've got over the initial shock - once you've seen one, you've seen them all.
