We have just spent 10 days in Club Bamboo and ÿou get what you pay! Yes, the place is run down, smelly, noisy and not the cleanest in the world, but it's cheap!
The pictures on the internet are quite misleading, the place and rooms look nothing like it at all. The bungalows are nothing more than a room with own entrance from the outside, they are very closely built together and on top of eachother. You can hear everything from your neighbours (and I mean everything!).
To reach some of the rooms you require a certain level of fitness and every time we made the journey from our bungalow to the reception I vowed to give up smoking!
The rooms are reasonably clean, although we had a dubious blanket on the bed that made us itch. There is still a lot of building going on (as mentioned in other reviews) and we asked to move room as the very irritating sound of a pump kept us awake all night. This was arranged without any problems.
The restaurant was ok, breakfast a bit boring after a while.
The location of the hotel is approx. 20 minutes walk to the beach and center of Patong, the first part down a steep hill without a footpath. We walked it a few times, but I can imagine this to be very unpleasant in the high season. It's also not very safe to walk along this road at night, the traffic is quite heavy.
All in all, ok for the money , but we would probably take a room a bit closer to the center next time.........
Good Romantic Getaway

Club Bamboo is rather far away from the beach, 15-20mins walk to the beach and 30-45mins walk to Bangla Rd. I stayed in the Bunglow Rooms which is very clean and big for the price i paid. There's mozzies in the room but thats kinda expected as the hotel is built on the hill. Breakfast should have more choices but the food taste good and the resturant staffs are very nice. There's also a small swimming pool and a jacuzzi pool. Last but not least, the fitness area can see beautiful sunset so i guess the penthouse suite can view sunset too as its only 1 level below the fitness area. It's a perfect hotel for couples who just want to rest and relax and get away from all the busy streets. Overall i enjoyed my stay there with the friendly staffs and i'll still choose Club Bamboo the next time i go Phuket.

The stay at Club Bamboo was wonderfull. The staff had our key waiting at for us at reception before walking up the stairs and were always asked by the bar staff if we wanted beer. The room was huge and very clean & tidy. They arrange everything we needed including taxi drivers for the day. The walk into Patong is an easy stroll but coming back is definately a job for a tuktuk. The gym is very well equipped (not that we used it) granted there is building work going on during the day, you bearly notice it. I would definately book this hotel again when returning to Phuket. The amount of knowledge we gained just from chatting to staff is greater than what you would ever get from Lonely Planet!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not Good At All.

Stayed October '07 in garden view bungalow. Staff were friendly but that was the only good point. Garden view was a tree growing out of a ditch in front of the window. Room wasn't the cleanist and aircon stuck on one setting. Pool very small and you could not sit at it as building work being done beside it, everywhere covered in dust. Sun never seemed to hit the four sunchairs anyway. Water in the bath and shower was VERY dirty.
Not really walkable to beachfront as no paths. Tuk-Tuk back pretty expensive.DO NOT STAY HERE. If you think the photos make it look nice, IT ISN'T NICE AT ALL.
Not the cheapest place to stay either.Cost us 55EURO/night. You can get better places alot cheaper.

Very horrible hotel, all kind of little animals everywhere. Should be 3 stars, there is 3 stars too much.
The room B05 was terrible. We paid 200 euros for 3 nights. We wanted to get the money bach, even the part, buit they didn`t take any notice.
The most horrible nights in our life. Don`t even think of this horrible hotel, you might `ll get the room B05!!!!

Very horrible, worst and third class hotel, hotel staff behaviour is very bad. dont know how to speak with tourist. all kind of little animals everywhere. Luandary system was very bad. Breakfast very poor. big cheeter

We will fly to Phuket tomorrow, and booked a suite (2 king-size beds) over latestays.com yesterday night for our family (4 adults and 1 infant). They confirmed the booking in 20 minutes. This morning, they told us the booking was cancelled, and we should change to 2 deluxe rooms (1 king-size bed).
Their reasons in different emails:
1. "Suite room can not accommodate for 4 adults and one child."
2. "It can be accommodated for 2 adults and one child only"
3. "Unfortunately, we have to close the suite room for maintenance for a couple days start from today, it force us unable to provide suite room for any customer..."
We're fed up with their ridiculous logic, thought they're lying, and cancelled the booking.
Later, our Thai friend called and pretended to book a suite from them. The font desk told her it's OK for 4 adults and one child, but she had to check with manager. The manager told my friend the suite was already occupied this morning and only available a few days later.
I just read the reviews and really glad that we won't stay here.
a great holiday

I stayed in the Deluxe Jacuzzi room, it was a great accomodation, clean and a nice view. The staff is very kind and the food in the restaurant is good. I really liked the cozy atmosphere, just want to go back!
Great Phuket accomodation

This intimate hotel was home for a week and I just loved it. The staff really make this a special place and Suzanne the Asst GM made sure everything worked well and went smoothly. I was particularly impressed with the dining here. Top marks considering the competition throughout Patong. I don't know what they are doing to attract such great staff (all of them) but keep it up guys. As it was the low season I was upgraded to a lovely room upon arrival and had the additional benefit of a big screen TV and spa in the bathroom.This made for great nights in when the day had been long and tiring. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The reception desk staff helpful and made tour bookings simple. Nothing was too difficult. It's location on the hillside overlooking Patong means that you need to take advantage of the free hourly shuttle they run from 9am to 9pm. Getting back is a simple taxi bike ride or tuk tuk.....or a nice walk if inclined and the weather not too sunny! If I'm in Phuket again I will definately return here.
Wonderful cosy boutique resort!

Cosy and exclusive resort! After the recent refurbishment, looks more modern and contemporary. Room is very clean and simple. Resort interior is landscaped with lush greenery and thai-inspired decor. Breakfast was alright but choices limited. Staff was ever helpful and very polite! Location to patong is 15mins by foot but taking the resort shuttle(every hour) or a taxi is recommended. Staff greets u with a smile everytime u come back from your outing. Very nice pool and cafe terrace! Enjoyed my stay of six nights at this exclusive resort. Recommended for travellers looking for a cheap and cosy resort. Great value, would definetly want to be part of club bamboo when i return to phuket soon!
