Diamond Cottage Resort & Spa is a Thai-style resort on the hillside between the southern end of Karon beach and northern end of Kata beaches, within short walking distance of both beaches. Patong is a short Tuktuk ride away.
There are many shops, restaurants, bars, and banks nearby, so you won't want for any neccesities.
They are currently expanding greatly, with the construction noise that goes along with that...
we were staying in the new wing, and got to experience their new resaurant on opening day.
Many pools to choose from, and the lower restaurant offers great food all day for decent prices. Tried quite a few restaurants in the area, and the hotel restaurant's food was actually better (and cheaper!) than the other restaurants in the area. Included breakfast buffet was good, with a decent selection of morning yummyness.
Rooms are not cheap if you just show up (~USD $150). Look for deals online, we got our brand new rooms for half price.
I'd stay here again.
