This was a good experience for us. We were looking for something similar to our accomodation at Koh Samui (The Nora). Unfortunately, not the same, but we were very happy. Our room overlooked the pool, we had our own patio, and it was a quick stroll across the pool deck onto the beach. Patong Beach is very busy. We spent most of our day exploring and finding new beaches to relax on. In the evenings we would return to the Impana for our snacks and sundowners as well as a quick dip in the pool. After refreshing ourselves we would walk on the famous Bangla road. This is VERY VERY busy at night. THOUSANDS of people just strolling around, shopping, having a bite to eat, and ogling the "Transvestites" The transvestites looked prettier than some of the tourist ladies. They really are beautiful. There are lots of restaurants to choose from if you do not want have dinner at your hotel. We always do dinner on the first night of our stay at our booked hotel, after that we try something new every night.
Nice evening sunsets. Also great to watch the para-sailers. There are about 7 going up every 2 minutes. The jest-ski's I counted everyday was about 31 continuously jetting around. Cost of jet-ski ride 45 minutes, 1400 thai Bhat. Worth it.
The Impiana is situated on Patong Beach. We had a very comfortable stay here, close to all the shopping, great restaurants, ATM's and Internet cafe's. Not many hotels on Patong Beach are directly on the beach, this one is. No need to cross BUSY bustling road to get there.
