Phuket camping
by bulldogtwo
You are pretty vague in your questions. I assume that you are talking about a peddle bike. Not sure where but you can probably rent one somewhere. Ever consider a moped? Much easier and LOTS faster and almost anyone can ride and handle them. They are everywhere to rent and very reasonable, shouldn't be more than 5-7$ per day tops, and most times 3-4$.
As far as camping gear is concerned, don't know what you are looking for or need or where yo are going ot plan on camping? Some of the National Parks have tents to rent but I don't think sleeping bags, haven't seen or heard of any beaches that would have that available. You may try to e-mail some of the dive shops, all over the web, in Phuket. They may have some ideas as to where you could get gear. Camping stores, no haven't seen any of those around.
Good luck!
I'd be interested in where you plan on camping if you could e-mail me!
Wat Chalong part 2
by austarman
The architecture in this place alone is well worth the visit but to learn the history and culture of this place is very interesting no matter what you might believe.
There are many temples here plus the main Monks old house with their statues made from wax.
There is also an impressive Pagoda here with a good view from the roof as well as food, drink and souvenir stalls.
Cape Laem Phrom Thep
by austarman
This viewpoint attracts a lot of tourists and locals at sunset, so if you want to avoid the crowds consider going earlier in the day. There is an open-air restaurant with fantastic views from the cape which can make for a memorable dining experience.
At the top is a shrine dedicated to Brahma, the Hindu god of creation, whom the cape is named after. (Phra Phrom is the Thai name for Brahma, laem means “cape”, while thep means “god”). To get an even better view, climb up a couple of flights of stairs to a raised platform in the Golden Jubilee Lighthouse. The lighthouse also contains a small nautical museum.Situated between Rawai and Nai Harn beaches, Phrom Thep Cape is a dramatic headland that stretches out to sea at the southwest end of Phuket Island. The cape has spectacular views of the small island of Koh Kaew Yai and the Andaman Sea, and is a particularly popular place to enjoy the sunset.
Local markets in Patong
by muratkorman
You can find a lot of stalls in Patong selling men's clothes and women's clothes. Some of them come in clusters, say 20 of them in the same area. This gives you a better bargaining power because if you can't get the price you want in one stall, you can ask another. If you are good at bargaining, you will get big discounts. T-shirts, hats, bags, shorts, swimwear, trousers, shoes You will get the best price if you bargain
