Kamala Beach Hotel & Resort is located right on Kamala beach, on the west side of Phuket island. It is about 35 minutes away from Phuket Airport and 10 minutes from Patong Beach. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and the food delicious! There are two beautiful swimming pools, located right at the beach.
The Kamala beach hotel on Phuket has been around for many years. Kamala has changed and is very much more built up now. We found a very cheap price so it was quite a good bargain. the room was comfortable and the service freidnly, the location is still one of the best as the hotel was one of the orginal places to stay. The pool is quite nice.
Good value and excellent location compared to many of the newer hotels. Good value at THB 1,800 for 2 including breakfast, tax and service, and we got an upgrade !

Poolside cabanas or secluded bungalows are available in a semi jungle setting with a pool and Kiddie pool in the central courtyard. This is a kid friendly place with toys available by the pool for the children to use. There is also a large library of mostly German books available to read as well.
You may choose between Thai or American style breakfasts (included).
Bungalows are 1950 baht and smaller cabanas are 1650 for two twin beds.
The location near the mini mart (and other restaurants and amenities) and across from a park to the beach, is great.
You really feel like you are close to the jungle, yet all the conveniences are within reach.

Kamala Beach Resort has very nice ocean view rooms and a buffet breakfast included, is clean and comfortable if you like beach chair/umbrella resorts. some other places like Layalina Hotel have a bit more character and nicer rooms and setup for just a bit more cost and could be worth checking out. Kamala Dreams costs less than the Beach Resort and is also well appointed.
Layalina Hotel offers a 2 level suite with a private rooftop sunning/ viewing area that is hard to beat and a very cool room layout with good ocean views and is all brand new, 6 months in business with good staff...check it out.
It is a quiet and laid-back place. And it is seriously hit by Tsunami. However, it has mostly recovered but you can still feel the impact. Here're some pictures of the views from my room entrance as well as around the hotel compound.
This is a 3-star hotel located by Kamala Beach. It's not very luxurious (and considering it's seriously hit by the Tsunami), but it's definitely worth the stay. The massage offered is rather cheap, slightly cheaper than other places. It has a pretty nice pool for sunbathing and relaxing.
We had a great week at the Kamala Beach Hotel. Had 2 beach front rooms which were nice and spacious and well worth the little extra cost over the sea view rooms.
The reception and cleaning staff were very helpful and friendly however the staff in the restuarant were most unhelpful and spent their time standing around chatting to each other.
We ate supper there the first night and the service was slow and the place was not full at all, We gave it a second try the next night due to a storm but actually walked out of the resturant after waiting 30 minutes and they had not even taken a drinks order and the storm had then passed. Ffrom then on only ate breakfast at the hotel and then went to the little beach places for supper for the rest of our stay. Really is great to sit on the beach and eat.
Nice pools and location right on the beach front. Found this beach nicer than Patong beach and Kamala in also nice and quiet compared to Patong but close enought to grab a tuktuk to go and do some shopping or take in the night life at Patong.
