Quite large, ocean front buildings as well as less expensive rooms across the street. At least 3 swimming pools, 6 restaurants, and beautiful grounds.

Prefer Ocean View?
If you prefer a ocean view you must opt to reserve a room on thani wing. Because Buri wing rooms have a garden and pool view.

Paradise-Beach !
Yes, its a paradise-beach, just accessible to Kata Thanis guests (if you dont count the small hotel/guesthouse at the very end of the beach). I made it therefore to my favorite, where I`ve stayed already 4 times in the past few years.
Before booking a room, study the resorts map, as there are 3 different wings, not all that beautiful as the one, shown in the pictures.(the most beautiful beeing the "Thani"-wing with oceanview, second "Buri"-wing with pool and gardenview. The third wing is on the other side of the street, without seaview and farther from the beach!
The hotel offers nice (not too big) rooms, a fabulous, al fresco seafood restaurant, a very elegant French/Italian restaurant and the main-partly openair restaurant where the daily buffet-dinners and breakfasts are served. Food is excellent, plenty of fruit- and salad-buffets, fabulous grill- meat- and fish- or sushi-dishes and desserts to just dream of! Good wine-list, although mainly Aussie products, not cheap! Two comfortable beach bars for sundowners!

a True Spa Hotel
A true spa hotel situated with nearly-exclusive access to the serene Kata Noi beach (technically all beaches in Thailand are public property). Meticulously designed and maintained rooms mimic the relaxing, rejuvenating, and spotlessly clean atmosphere of the spa. The gardens and pools are beautifully designed, though not nearly as lush as those at hotels in Hawaii.
A high percentage of rooms have a nice, wide view of the beach and ocean as well as the pools and garden. The resort is home to several very good restaurants which are quite reasonably priced. Even room service was affordable, and a nice way to avoid having to leave the hotel grounds. The staff exhibits a very high focus on customer service, though some had a little trouble understanding my English.

Phuket's Beautiful Resort
The hotel is across the street from the beach. There are many pools and restaurants overlooking the beach.

Disappointed with:
The accomodation - Junior suite, no turndown service and felt more like an apartment than a hotel.
The breakfast buffet was not up to an acceptable standard, poor choice.
Restaurants not good, food not up to what you would expect

Away from the crowds
This place should have cost a lot more than I paid for it.
Er, am I allowed to mention other websites on here (I presume the moderators will block this if I'm not, so here it is anyway)?
I used a site called latestays.com. I was a bit wary of doing all the booking and paying online, but I had no problems at all.
The hotel's well away from the main noisy tourist centres. In July, I had Kata Noi beach - just across the street - all to myself in the mornings.
The rooms were beautiful, the staff were very pleasant.
Unique Quality: It has a large, beautiful pool, while behind the hotel stretches a low mountain covered in banana trees and coconut palms. Paradise!

Very nice spacious rooms with balcony and overlooking either the sea or the gardens.
Staff were very nice and the room service excellent - especially after clubbing and you have the munchies.
Best Hotel in Kata beach
highly recomended.....a bit on the pricey end but worth evry dollar. rent a scooter to get around...its less then 4 USD a day. i had a great time. with 3 huge pools, 5 restaurants and direct access to the beach...who am i to complain.
Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location
We stayed at the Katathani for 4 nights in January - after the peak season.
The hotel and the grounds are beautiful. There are many pools, and it's right on Kata Noi beach, which is a very quiet beach - mostly just people from the Katathani. Even though Kata Beach, to the north, was jam-packed, Kata Noi was quite empty.
Our room (a Grand Suite) was large and beautiful. We looked into some of the regular rooms, and they looked really nice, too.
There were a few minor service issues - a European tour group put their towels out on all of the poolside lounge chairs very early in the morning, and then left, so no one else could get a chair. The hotel didn't address that until we complained about it - after that, they put notes on all the chairs asking people not to do it (and then the tour group left, and there was plenty of space!)
But we'd definitely stay at the Katathani again. It was one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in.

hi thinking of staying in katathani resort in kata noi but a bit concerend it will be a bit too quiet as we would like to be able to walk to shops and bars and resturants but not wanting to stay in patong
Has anyone stayed here before . we have a 7 year old so need sometinng a bit kiddy friendly or could people suggest somewhere nice to stay overlooking beach at karon or kata noi or even closer to patong

I stayed at Kata Thani for 4 days and I think it was fantastic..If you like you can go to Fanta Sea..It might be a good option both for you and your child..Have a nice trip.

You can kind of walk to bars, restaurants and shops in Kata from KataThani. It's just that it's up and downhill, and if you're carrying a child or pushing a stroller it might be a struggle. You might be happier in Kata itself rather than Kata Noi. It's flat, for the most part :-)
