I wanted to be near the airport on my last day of my visit.....so I chose to stay at Layan spa resort. (Layan beach is one of the areas nearer to the airport) It was a unexpected surprise as I was captivated by the charm, decor, serenity of the hillside resort. (It is so serene that the nearest convenience store is a 10 min drive away) I had one of the deluxe rooms which is somewhat like a cabana nested on a hillside. It was pretty big, 45 sqm, with a raindrop shower, huge king sized bed, and a balcony that opens up to trees. A big contrast from Patong.

The raindrop shower was pretty cool....the whole resort gives a very "back to nature" feeling.
