Le Meridien is a nice resort in a lovely location. It is a resort in the true sense of the word. If you didnt want to leave the grounds there would be no need to do so. Everything you need is here and at your fingertips.
Pleasant room decorated in Thai resort style. Some areas are a little dated but the lovely lagoon pools, private beach and excellent variety of dining choices make up for this.
Le Meridien despite its large size is a very relaxing place to spend a few days. If you look around everyone is doing the same...relaxing and enjoying the amenities. There are many activities if you want to be energetic including a golf driving range, mini golf, rock climbing wall, and pool games. But if you just want to lay around the pool all day enjoying drinks out of coconuts then that is fine too.
The OTOP markets and nightlife of Patong Beach are only a short tuk tuk ride away, or you can organise the hotel car to take you around the island.
That is if you can tear yourself away from the fabulous vistas and relaxing ambience of the resort, and the staff are super friendly.
Unique Quality: The private beach frontage is wonderful. No need to hire sun loungers or hide from hawkers trying to sell you things. Thai massage is offered each day on the beach though at very reasonable prices. A gorgeous baby elephant visits the resort every afternoon.

What a WONDERFUL Hotel!
It's my firsttime to stay in such a nice Hotel in SE Asia. I was totally impressed... Meridien has its own beach, which is super clean and quiet and super good swimming pools which was built around the hotel. Service is good for sure. Basically they got everything a 5-start hotel should have. Recommended to ppl who got some money and want to have a peace and quiet holidays...
Unique Quality: They got the best swimming pool I've seen in SE Asia! It's not only big but also designed for comfort and enjoyment. It's right next to the beach so you can swim with the sound of the waves without having to struggle in wavy seas.

Le Meridien Hotel
Phuket is a very large island and there are plenty of accommodation options outside the busy beach areas of Patong, Karon and Kata. Some even have their own private beaches. The Meridien doesn't have its own beach but is a nice, quiet hotel on Nai Harn beach.

Le Meridien Beach Resort
Le Meridien beach resort is situated on its own in picturesque relax bay about 5 minutes from Patong beach. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with everything you would expect of a five star resort. The swimming pool must be one of the biggest I have ever seen! There are plenty of restaurants ranging from, Japanese, Italian, seafood and a nightly themed buffet, all are reasonably priced and good too. If you are travelling with kids, there is a great kids pool, club and daily activities. The hotel is visited twice daily by a baby elephant, Mali and her mahout. Try giving her some rambutans and bananas and she will give you a kiss!
Unique Quality: Great hotel, with great views over the bay.

Most luxorious hotel in PHUKET
Most luxorious hotel near Patong with privat beach and open only for visiters! Best rooms available and interior is the best
Not only do you have choice in the style of resort, you can also select the location as you like. There are lots of hotels, bungalows, resorts or guesthouse around Phuket island. You can book any type of accommodation that you like. You should compare the price of each hotel before coming here because the price of each hotel is different. And it's depend on the season also. The price is quite high during the peek season but it's lower during the low season. Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort has its own beach and is closed to Patong Beach.

somewhat commercialized type of hotel with over 400+ rooms...would be packed at that time...
but wiould be everywhere on phuket anyway! ; )
i think you'll enjoy it...
happy new year's crossing...!!
next time, if you really have to stay with LE MERIDIEN in Phuket, go for the LE MERIDIEN YACHT CLUB (more exclusive)....

Thanks Winston. I thank you for your replies. I notice that you are a travel agent. Do you happen to know the difference between a Deluxe room and Superior room at this resort( Le Meridien). Trying to upgrade but having difficulty.

Hi, I have been to Phuket this summer and stayed in a deluxe sea view room at Le Meridien. It is a wonderful hotel, in its own bay not far from Patong. It has a really good childrens pool and club. The hotel is visited twice daily by a baby elephant (Mali)and her mahout, which again is great for the kids. If you go there-try giving her some rambutans and bananas. Have a great trip Carole

Thanks Carole, I appreicate the information. How did you travel from the resort to Patong? Did the Deluxe rooms have hardwood floors? Any additional info would be helpful.
Thanks

the superior rooms = are the standard rooms and if you're lucky, yoyu may get the partial seaview rooms.
the deluxe = have more chances of gettng the sea view, you may have to request that asap for the sea view rooms....
the deluxe rooms have a slightly larger lay out of the rooms and the amenities not avail in the superior rooms = minor toiletries, extra stuff in the mini bar, etc.
last year all guests staying in the deluxe rooms receieved complimentary polo monogrammed shirts.
there are no hard woods floors in the superior and deluxe rooms except the exectuive suites (the one with the 2 bedrooms) have hardwood floors in the living room only.
happy travels, winston

Le Meridien is just 5 minutes away from patong. I stayed there in 2002 and then again in October 2003. Lovely location and great place to be. Yes they got wooden flooring delux rooms too. Sea and pool view. Ask as early as you can becouse of the heavy demand. Lovely pool. separate pool for kids. private beach. So many activities. I am sure you are gonna enjoy there. Smile....becouse you are going to the Land of Smiles. ciao
