Very pleasant stay although the airconditioning wasn't working. The place is very new, and the decor very pleasing, there is a little pool with a pool bar for you to chill out at on the days you don't want to squeeze with the rest on the beach. The price is good for the quality of the resort. It's not got any fanciful hotel stationery and additional things but it's comfortable, and quiet.
A very nice pool, and very asian architecture, cosy layout. See my Phuket page for the pictures.
Firstly, I salute the way this hotel is being designed and built as well as its management strategy. I was being told by the manager that this hotel is owned by a local Thai-chinese from easthern Thailand.
Sweet Home is an 8-rooms posh hotel. Imagine an 8-rooms hotel offering private swimming pool, sauna, restaurant, Thai massage and hair & beauty salon. Yes!!! Its an incredible feat for Sweet Home and its still standing firm. This hotel is more like a private residential property than a hotel.
All rooms are beautifully designed and feature private balconies, overlooking the pool and with an ocean view.
Room amenities include air-conditioning, satellite TV, refrigerator, minibar, en-suite bedroom with hot and cold shower, safety box and laundry services. Other facilities include swimming pool, with poolside bar, conference room and a motorcyle or car hire service.
Sweet Home also has a hair and beauty salon offering massage, haircuts, highlights, hair extension, manicures, nail extentions, pedicures, facial and other treatments. A traditional Thai massage by the pool, amongst the scented tropical flowers is also available upon request.
On my last visit on October 2003, Sweet Home is selling their rooms at 2500 bahts during the low-season and 3500 bahts during the high season. However, advanced reservation is recommended as I was told that rooms for the month of November and December are fully booked since 3-4 months ago.
Sweet Home Restaurant and Bed & Breakfast is positioned in lush woodland on a hillside overlooking the beautiful Patong Bay. Situated away from the hustle and bustle of the town, yet only a three minutes drive from Patong beach, Sweet Home is set in a tranquil tropical garden, with a panoramic vista of the ocean and distant mountains.
Sweet Home also offers free pick-up and drop-off service in the Patong area for patrons of their restaurants.
Personally, I have never lodge here but I knew this hotel when I am conducting some survey for my business.
The owners of Sunset Point has put huge efforts by building this hotel on the edge of the hill. It is located at Kalim beach, north of Patong and less than 10 minutes drive from Patong beach.
It has many beautiful and clean air-conditioned rooms directly facing the sea. GREAT SEA VIEWS!!! A very romantic location for couples. Sunrise and sunsets can be viewed from the large windows in the rooms. To enhance the romantic atmosphere, the bigger rooms does not even have a shower/toilet door.
I have visited this hotel twice. The first time was in May 2003 and they offered a room for about 1500 bahts. But during my last visit in October 2003, they were selling their rooms for 1000-1200 bahts. During the high season in November and December, I believe the rates per room can be anything from 1500-2500 bahts.
Don't forget to update me the rates if you happen to stay there between November to Janurary.
Sunset Point's only facility is its double storey sea-view restaurant overlooking the Kamala and Patong beach. It's unique because it is standing at the edge of the hill. It offers local and western dishes as well as romantic, quiet and peaceful atmosphere within the restaurant. Perhaps, its strategic location allows it to command prices a little more expensive compared to other restaurants. However, it is much frequented by the caucasians and Thais from mainland.
Under normal circumstances staying in Patong wouldn't be my first choice but if you do this place isn't at all bad. For such a busy resort it is actually pretty quiet, apart from some building work that is going on currently (November 2003).
Big rooms that are new, clean and comfortable. Very interesting showers - the water comes out of a big orifice rather than a normal shower head. I think this is to make it like a waterfall! The rooms have A/C, minibars and TVs with a good selection of English language channels. There is a smallish swimming pool with a pool bar. The lowest cost rooms are 1800 Baht a night.
I really enjoyed the quality and prices there! It's not 5star ;) but you will enjoy the clean rooms and everything else you need
For a truly memorable experience in sometimes over-crowded Phuket, stay at THE CHEDI. I cannot rave enough about it. Most beautiful resort with individual chalets & private sundeck. Gorgeous waves. Very transquil & romantic. gd svc.
Its about 20mins by Tuk-tuk (a fun ride in itself) to Patong Beach (main shopping area & nightlife, very touristy). Close enough to the fun, far from the chaos and crowd.
I stayed here on my visits to Phuket in 1992 and 1996. The location was convenient, rooms okay and prices very reasonable. Since then it has undergone much change, to the extent I could no longer recognise it from the outside when I last went. I believe there have been several changes of management too.
Good location and reasonable prices.
Hotels in Phuket can be twice as expensive compared to Chiang Mai and Bangkok. Rates can run up to 2000 Bt (50 USD) for a decent hotel (including breakfast)
A cheaper alternative might be to rent a small apartment. There are aircoed apts available for 1000 Bt or less.
Laguna Phuket could be the BEST place to stay in Phuket Island. You'll find five world class resorts built around the water lagoon of Bang Tao Beach.
Luxury always don't come cheap. All the five resorts with minimum of USD 100 promotional rate during off peak season. Expect to pay double for the peak.
Each one has gain reputation with their unique quality and environmental protection.
Aside from being right on the beach, the hotel has a lovely swimming pool and sunbathing area. The grounds are well landscaped with tropical flowers and palm trees.
You can find a lot of it.
You can find cheap bungalow near the beach whit air
aonditioned, modern facilities and kitchen.
Buy fresh fish in the market and cook it in your
I will not say it is the cheapest as you pay about 500bt a night. For the price you can actually book into Mermaid Hotel with aircon in Kata area as well
Its build with bricks but finishing is done by wood, so you have a very wooden feeling with bricks behind. Beds and chairs are made from Bullock carts.
