Our stay was with three children (Aged 8,4,1) in the Manathai Hotel. The service was impeccable, service very friendly towards the children and the general feel of the hotel was welcoming.
This hotel would suit a couple, but a number of families seemed to have checked through whilst we were there, the facilities are more suited to people without kids.
Unique Quality: We stayed for 9 nights and were made very welcome, and it was a real struggle leaving the beautiful room and for the elder boys - the swimming pool. The beach was not difficult to get to, although a 100m walk away, didn't allow for swimming as the rip tide in late July and early August is too strong.
We stayed in the Duplex Suite, the rooms were very nicely laid out, clean, and very well provisioned. This suite included a downstairs entrance into a good sized Lounge, with access to a balcony which looked onto the side of the Twin Palms hotel (not so pretty) but with a view to the beach if you leaned out from the balcony, and a nice view of the beautiful swimming pool.
This hotel would suit a couple, but a number of families seemed to have checked through whilst we were there, the facilities are more suited to people without kids. We used a very nice baby sitter, provided by the hotel. In terms of location it was well positioned to the beach, however was a 45 minute journey to other attractions on the island. We always used the very reliable bus service which left from just outside the Antique shop every 15mins to Phuket town.

The Manathai Phuket is situated near Surin Beach, although not on the beach the Manathai Phuket hotel offers small luxury style with excellent rooms and facilities if you are looking for a small luxury hotel on Phuket island with quality and good service, quiet and relaxing. The Manathai Phuket was completed recently. If you want a small luxury hotel on Phuket and don't mind a walk to the beach then the Manathai Phuket might be of interest, Surin beach is a quiet beach area north from Kamala Beach and Patong Beach on Phuket.

They have two locations, Chiang Mai and Phuket, we stayed in the Chiang Mai one and it was very nice stylish. It is just by the city centre but with great feelings of a rural Thai village with the palm trees around, an outdoor restaurant and bar as well as the swimming pool.

Hey there,
I am going to Phuket today and will have a look around Surin beach this weekend and let you know. I hope that is enough time in advance to help you out. If I happen to go there today I will try to update even earlier but I am not sure where I will be going today for sure.

Thank you very much - this is very kind. There is enough time as we are only travelling in November. If you are around and if it is not too much hassle please take as well a closer look around Hotel Twinpalms, what about constructions going on there or nearby.

The Twinpalms is doing a HUGE addition to their facility AND immediately next door the Surin Beach Resort has been taken over by the Marriott and is being completely redone. Next to that is the Chava Apartments - but they are finished with the noisier parts of construction. TreeTops Arasia might be a better alternative until things settle down or the ManaThai is you want to be just a bit closer to the sea.

That website is focused on Surin Kamala and Bang Tao only so tends to have more specialized knowledge of the area.
The Marriott's construction is to the back of the property now and TwinPalms construction is at the back of their property too - but goes all the way back to the main road in Surin Town.
