Mom Tri's Boathouse Dolphin Pool Villa by Cathy&Gary, 4 more photos We recently celebrated our 32nd Wedding Anniversary and as we are staying 3 months in Phuket we decided to treat ourselves to a couple of nights at each of the Mom Tri’s Boutique Hotels. This is our review of Mom Tri’s Boathouse. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Khun Jarinee who is the Front Office Manager. Check in was a breeze, all we had to do was show our passports then Jarinee took us down to the restaurant for complimentary drinks. The setting is beautiful here with comfortable lounges overlooking Kata beach. Jarinee then took us up to our room (number 307), the walk to our room was so interesting as the walls of the corridors are lined with beautiful art work and photographs. The main hotel rooms are lovely and well thought out and our balcony had the perfect view of the huge Jacuzzi below with lots of greenery and was very private. We quickly unpacked then went off to explore the hotel and have a swim. Little did we realize what was going to happen when we went back to our room a few hours later!! After a quick swim we had a drink at the Boathouse Wine and Grill, then booked an outside table for dinner that night. When we arrived back in our room the phone was ringing, it was Jarinee and she said that they would like to give us an upgrade so could we please pack straight away. Now we had no idea what to expect but we were ready in about 2 seconds!! We followed the 2 bellboys who came to collect us outside of the main building, then past a sign saying “Private” and up some stairs, then we go through a door into the biggest and most beautiful Villa. Oh my god we have been upgraded to the Dolphin Pool Villa. We looked at one another and just could not believe our eyes. There are only 2 of these Villas and they are over 120 square metres in size. The main room was amazing, 2 queen sized beds joined together, a beautiful lounge area facing the sea, a study area and another lovely seating area, pot plants in flower everywhere, a huge flat screen TV, DVD player and stereo. Behind the beds were 2 huge beautifully decorated sliding doors, ok the bathroom must be through there. Another surprise, there is a hallway, at one end is the separate toilet, in the middle is the biggest bathroom I have ever seen (I want one!) it is simply stunning with his and hers sinks, then up some steps to the beautiful bath, top quality toiletries are also provided. Onto the next door, it keeps getting better, inside is a massive shower room with shower heads on the wall and ceiling. This shower is about 3 times bigger than the normal shower. We still could not believe that we were actually going to be staying here for a couple of nights. We were like kids in a candy store! Then we ventured out onto our patio, wow we even have our own private pool with a water feature and a lovely garden area with tables and chairs, sun lounges and even an outdoor rain shower, all overlooking Kata beach. Now our plans for having a look around Kata have gone out the window, we are not going to leave this beautiful Villa! The weather was not the best while we were here but nothing was going to stop us from using our private pool, we stayed in there for ages just looking out over the views of Kata beach. That night we had an amazing dinner on the terrace at Mom Tri’s Boathouse and again I have a separate page with photos and prices under Eating Out. The breakfast buffet was also excellent with a lot of choices and unlike most buffets the food was hot! Complimentary newspapers and fruit platters are also provided daily to all rooms. We loved our stay in the Dolphin Pool Villa and feel very privileged that we were upgraded, on check out we found out that the upgrade was from Mr Louis Bronner (General Manager of Mom Tri’s Boathouse) so a very special thankyou from both of us. This was certainly a Wedding Anniversary we will never forget! Theme: HotelPhone: 66 763 30015
