More about Mom Tri's Villa Royale Phuket
Out of this world!
by TripAdvisor Member StyloMum
We booked the Summer package directly with Mom Tri for our 9th anniversary trip and it was worth every baht we spent! Arrived late because the flight from KL was delayed. Nevertheless, the hotel limo driver patiently waited for us and greeted us with a smile and chilled drinking water despite the 2 hour delay.
Upon arrival at the hotel, we're served chilled tamarind juice, and also given the flower bracelet as the receptionist attended to us checking in. The lobby is tastefully decorated and the view from the lobby is breathtaking.
Beach suite-We're shown to our room and I must say, my husband and I were so impressed with our suite. Flowers and orchids are everywehere. As we have informed the hotel that this is our 9th anniversary, they have arranged tiny red flowers on the bed that read "Happy 9th Wedding Anniversary"...so sweet. And there's a small anniversary cake, a fruit basket and a bottle of wine. As we do not drink, the hotel is kind enough to subsitute the wine. The view from our room is spectacular as we're facing the sea. The suite is tastefully decorated.
Bathroom- gorgeous! Orchids on towels, rose petals in the bath tub. And the toilettries...superb. This is the first hotel that provides full big sized bottles of shower gel, shampoo and so on. And you could even buy the whole range and the proceeds will go to charity. How noble.
Loved every bit about this hotel. Food was nice and the staff are friendly and obliging. The hotel grounds are so lovely, lush and green. Must try the spa-we were given complimentary thai massage.
Down the road from the hotel is a small village, perfect for dining, some shopping and evening stroll. We also went to the beach during sunset and it was beautiful.
Upon checking out, we're photographed. To our surprise 2 weeks later at home, we received a card wtih our photo from Mom Tris, thanking us for our stay there. Woww!
In short, it was a perfect anniversary trip for us. We're advocates of classy boutique hotels and we can attest that MomTris Villa Royale is the best thus far. Attention to details, privacy, breathtaking views, peaceful, good service, gorgeous room..everything, you name it, you get it here. Our only biggest regret is not staying at Mom Tris Villa Royale longer. So we'll definitely be back there. PERFECT!
Great Old Mon Tri

I was hesitant at first but must admit it is a great boutique hotel. Old but well maintain. Big rooms, beautiful view and great beach at Kata Noi. I Recommend it highly although a bit pricey.
Good Value Hotel

Booked by direct call tot he hotel and was offered a special off season rate, including airport limousine transfer, daily breakfast, welcome bottle of wine, one dinner in main restaurant, and spa treatment. An excellent value. Room is good quality, partially overlooking Kata Rai beach with the noise of waves crashing into the rocks below a natural back ground soundtrack. Breakfast consists of extensive buffet and includes eggs cooked to order as well, served 0730-1000. Staff are courteous and helpful Check in was efficient. Internet is also included but set up of PC is a pain and requires help from resident I.T. engineer. My MacBook was a difficult problem but was eventually connected to the hotel's fast wireless network. Spa was ok, but didn't have my (average) size in spa-wear, although my wife was able to fit easily into the small size offered.
Hotel is located on Kata beach in southern Phuket, about a one hour drive from the airport.
Views from the hotel over the beach are excellent. Overall a good value small hotel.
A little piece of heaven!!

This friendly, beautiful 1st class resort is the nicest placed I have ever stayed in my travels (as far as I am concerned)
A couple of very minor room problems fixed very quickly by staff.
And as for the staff, the friendliest I have ever encountered in my travels, from our friends who made up the rooms daily to the restaurant, they couldn't help us enough.
Thank you for making my stay a wonderful experience
Absolutely amazing!

Having travelled to many beautiful places around the world, this was to be our first visit to the far east. We were aware that the standard of accommodation in this part of the world was exceptional, but nothing could have prepared us for what we were about to discover.
Unfortunately the weather on our arrival wasn't too kind, damp and humid. But on arrival at Villa Royale, we were greeted with a wonderfully refreshing Thai herbal tea. The reception area is very peaceful with the sound of running water and in traditional thai style.
Before our trip, I had spent time emailing Patcharee, who had made every effort to ensure we had the rooms we required. Nothing had been too much trouble for her.
On arrival at our rooms, we were just totally gobsmacked. There are no other words that could even start to express our feelings. With thai music softly playing in the background, and the scent of aromatherapy oils burning in the room, we immediately felt totally spoilt.
The room was just enormous. Huge bed located in a very well designed 'villa', with really big comfy sofas. TV and CD player added to our enjoyment - there's a library located at reception where you can borrow CD's from. The marble and pebble bathroom was just amazing - sunken bath, and a very large shower were just two of the features. Out on the balcony was not only a table and chairs, but also big padded cushions to relax on too. All this with a view over Kata Noi beach and the Andaman sea.
The pool area was great - a lovely, very clean pool, not over run with sunloungers, in fact just the right amount. Tommy and Boy ensured we were never without iced water, and catered for our every need. We stayed for lunch there on a few occasions and the food was outstanding. It is worth noting that there is another pool situated a little higher up. If you wanted to walk down to the beach, there are steps from the pool area which lead down.
Mom Tri's Kitchen is a must. The food and wine menus are vast. We dined there on several evenings, and could not fault the food nor the service - just outstanding. Little touches such as the unusual crystal wine glasses added to the experience. Sao, Ao and Niwad are total professionals, ensuring you will never forget your stay there. They certainly know how to pour wine and sambuca!
We ventured down to Mom Tri's Boathouse on a couple of evenings. We only had a couple of drinks there to start the evening off, and although very pleasant, we were very glad we were staying at Villa Royale - just a different class. The same has to be said for Gumbo - a little disappointing.
All in all, Villa Royale has to be the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The resort, rooms, people - just everything was 5 star. Is is worth noting that is is built on the hillside with the rocks below going straight down into the sea. Because of this, there are steps to every level, and all rooms, so not ideal for the infirm nor families with children. It is steep in places. But great if you want to burn off the calories!
The weather was unkind as we left too - in fact it rained for 11 out of the 14 days we were there. According to Tommy, it was unusual to have that much rain at that time of year. In fact last year there was almost a drought! Just a bit unfortunate, but it didn't stop us having a great time.
Just fantastic-best Holiday ever
by TripAdvisor Member H0nky
I have to say that this Hotel is quite simply the very best place that I have ever stayed.
We were only there for one week, but what a totally relaxing environment.
Stayed in the Pool Villa, which is just like the website, very private and by the end of the week, we managed to wake up, have breakfast, and then colapse on the pool loungers for the rest of the day.
Walk down the beach at sunset, and then dinner back at the resort.
I loved the food, as very big choice and lots of healthy options. The staff however were just so very good.
Every morning I would call for the room to be cleaned, and then we would go for breakfast, by the time we got back the room it had been finished. I have never stayed in a hotel that would offer such prompt service.
This is a great location, and the beach is very nice.
Couple of rainy days, but shopping in Central Festival can keep you busy.
Very close to a small town 5 minutes walk, where you can get your basics.
Also another great option is the free wireless internet, just perfect.
The reviews that you read really are a very true picture of this resort. It's not new but has a lived in charm.
I am going back to this place without a second thought, just loved it.
Thank you Mom Tris for a very special holiday.
Lovely Getaway for Couples
by TripAdvisor Member Malaysian_suzie
We were initially a bit worried on arrival as the hotel is about an hour's drive from the city/airport and in the secluded South side. But it turned out to be the exact holiday destination we needed. It's private and yet just a short walk down to the beach. Very romantic and relaxing for couples. Not recommended for kids as there are quite a lot of steps to maneouver. We picked the Beach Villa Suite, which in our opinion was probably the best to be in. The Pool Suite is nice too but right next to our Villa so unless you want the absolute privacy, probably not worth the extra cost. Contacted the property directly and got a rate better than on internet. The staff are efficient and friendly enough but keep to simple English. The pool/bell boys were much better than the receptionists staff. Food was good although there were not enough local dishes on the menu.
The best thing was that there was a small town about 5-10 min walk away where we could get great cheap massages. Stay away from the seafood at the local restaurants though as we got bad food poisoning on the 2nd night there, probably from Tiger Prawns.
Checked out the Twin Palms, Chedi and JW Marriot. Think Mom Tri's was the best bet for a romantic getaway, by far.
