Mom Tri's Villa Royale New Ocean Wing Suites

    by

    Ocean Wing Suites (Villa Terracotta)

Mom Tri’s Villa Royale now have a beautiful new area which is next door to Villa Royale and connected by a walkway. These are called the Ocean Wing Suites and there are 5 semi detached rooms along with private Guest Lounge areas that are set at the tip of the headland overlooking the ocean. After seeing one photo of this area advertising their soft opening special in September we decided on the spur of the moment we just had to spend 4 nights here. Well it was a sensational price of 4,500baht per night including breakfast!

It is going to be very hard to describe how magnificent this place is. The 5 suites are named after wine & we stayed in the Pinot Noir suite, all we could do was look & say WOW! You really need to see my photos to see what I mean.

As with anything to do with Mom Tri’s Villa Royale, this is absolute luxury. Ohh & did I mention there is a staff of 7 to look after the 5 suites!

The suites are set in 3 different pavilions & there is also a massive but beautiful Guests Lounge area with custom tables, chairs, lounge suites, television and Mom Tri’s personal collection of artwork & sculptures are also on display here and around the property. Truly Amazing!

This stunning place is full of surprises, down the stairs to the next level we go & there is a lovely infinity pool with more comfortable seating areas and a barbeque terrace. Past this area and some more stairs there are more surprises, 4 secluded but totally separate decked areas overlooking the ocean! Each deck has sun loungers for 2 people.

Well as you may have guessed, we absolutely love it here. Everything was perfect, service was impeccable, if we went down to the pool, in a few seconds the staff would be there with big fluffy white towels and glasses of iced water, it always amazed me that we rarely saw them but they magically appeared out of nowhere!

We were also very happy to see that our friend Sae from Mom Tri’s Kitchen was also working here now as Assistant General Manager. The only disappointing thing with our stay was that it rained the whole time we were there, but I could not think of a better place to be for staying indoors! Now the hard decision is do we stay in the Ocean Suites or the Beach Wing Suites next year!!

Mom Tri's Villa Royale Royale Wing Suites

    by

We recently spent 4 nights during September at Mom Tri's Villa Royale with our daughter and her partner. We had not seen her for 2.5 years due to them living in Scotland so we knew that staying at Mom Tri's would be very special & give us quality time with our girl.

We had booked the first 2 nights in the Royale Wing Suites, then the next 2 in the Beach Wing Suites.

From the moment we arrived the whole experience was magical, the happy staff, the beautiful rooms, Mom Tri’s Kitchen, the grounds, the pools, watching fire flies from our balcony, the peaceful surroundings.

Check in was a breeze, it only took a few seconds while we were sitting on lounges drinking our delicious complimentary cranberry tea & then we were off to see our rooms.

We had adjoining suites in the Royale Wing Suite & I think I was more excited just hearing all the positive comments coming from our daughter’s room! These suites are relatively new and they are beautifully decorated, very light and bright, complete with all the finishing touches you would expect at such an exclusive hotel.

The bed is massive, extra large king size & very comfortable. The bathroom is stunning and the bath was absolute luxury, it would be the biggest bath I have ever been in!

All natural good quality toiletries are also provided, there are fresh orchids everywhere & we also had a gorgeous display of roses & orchids with a card welcoming us back to Mom Tri’s!
My favorite part of this room is the very inviting balcony area, which also has a ceiling fan, 2 coffee tables and 2 large daybeds.

This would have to be the best balcony we have seen in any hotel we have stayed at during 20 years of travelling. Many hours were spent just sitting here talking and catching up.

For our last 2 nights we all moved over to the Beach Wing Suites, I have to say we absolutely love these rooms, they are more traditional, lots of woodwork & sensational views of Kata Noi Beach from the balcony. We all loved how the only noise we heard was water crashing onto the rocks below.

All the rooms have 32 inch flat screen televisions & DVD players. These rooms may not be suitable for the elderly or disabled due to the amount of steps leading up and down from reception. (However the Royale Wing Suite would be perfect as there are no steps).

The rooms are spotless & there is a turn down service at night, love how they also leave chocolates on the bed. Each day there are also complimentary newspapers and a sweet treat plus fresh fruit left in your room.

There are so many private seating areas around the hotel, set amongst stunning lush green gardens, so if you’re after privacy then Villa Royale is the place to be.

It is also all the little things here that count like coming back at night and our bed has been turned down, a mosquito coil is plugged in, the oil burner is lit, not to mention delicious chocolates left on the bed!

Then there are the wonderful staff, everyone is so happy and no matter where we were in the hotel or grounds they would always stop to say hello and ask how we were.

The service at Mom Tri’s Villa Royale is incredible.
We have also had meals at Mom Tri's Kitchen and Oasis on the Sea quite a few times now, the selection of food is exceptionally good, so you are never short of choice.
Prices are also extremely reasonable and the views are sensational...

All the staff in the restaurant are friendly and attentive as is all the staff across the hotel.
While we were there it was our daughter’s birthday, what a day/night this turned out to be. At breakfast she was presented with a small birthday cake, then at lunch another small cake.
Of course her birthday dinner was at Mom Tri’s Kitchen, after a fantastic dinner, all the lights went out and all the staff came up behind her with a huge birthday cake singing happy birthday, the piano man was also there playing his accordion.

This was definitely a treasured moment!!

The breakfast buffet was also excellent with a lot of choices and unlike most buffets the food was hot!

There are 3 swimming pools at Mom Tri’s Villa Royale and each one is different, my favourite is the salt water infinity pool with views out over the ocean.

Mom Tri's Villa Royale is all about privacy and there are little areas all over the beautiful grounds with sun lounges set amongst the palms or gardens and every area has amazing views. Rain or shine there is somewhere to rest and relax with a book or just sit and soak up the peace and quiet.

If you are after the ultimate spa pamper package then we highly recommend Mom Tri’s Spa Royale. At the time we were there was a promotion on of 50% discount for in house guests so of course I had to have a little pamper package. I decided on the Calm Down and Relax package which was 90 minutes of bliss in stunning surroundings. My daughter and I have also had the 3 hour Royale Treatment which was sensational!

I could go on forever about how much we have enjoyed our stays at Mom Tri’s Villa Royale and words do not describe how wonderful this hotel is.
Mom Tri’s Villa Royale is the most peaceful, relaxing and beautiful hotel we have stayed in and we will definitely be back again next year.

It is so quiet & secluded, yet very warm and friendly, it is laid back, nothing pretentious here, but luxurious at the same time.
So if you are looking for somewhere very special to stay with exceptional service, beautiful surroundings, privacy and that feeling of stepping into another world then we highly recommend you stay at Mom Tri’s Villa Royale.

Their summer (low season) rates are great value and include many extras.
Thank you again Villa Royale for making our stays with you so special!!

Mom Tri's Villa Royale Phuket - Beach Wing Suite

    by

We have been staying at Mom Tri's Villa Royale each year since 2009 and it is our favorite hotel in Phuket, we have stayed in the Royale Wing Suites, Ocean Wing Suites and many times in the Beach Wing Suites.

I would also like to thank the management and staff of Mom Tri’s Villa Royale for the world’s best kept secret. Our daughter lives in Scotland and unbeknown to us had organized with Mom Tri’s a surprise visit. We did not have a clue and I was in our room talking to her on Skype and showing her how beautiful the weather was.

She told me to wait a minute as she needed to get a jacket as it was so cold in Scotland. Then the knock on our door. There she was with her partner and they were staying at Mom Tri’s for 9 nights in the room next to us. Needless to say it was the highlight of our 6 mths in Thailand.

Now back to my review. We always stay during low season and the weather on our recent visit was sensational, we booked the 7 night Platinum Package which is great value.

Every time we arrive the whole experience is magical, the happy staff, the beautiful rooms, Mom Tri’s Kitchen, the grounds, the pools, the peaceful surroundings, there is everything to love about this place. Check in is always a breeze, it only takes a few seconds and instantly you are made to feel very welcome.

More about Mom Tri's Villa Royale Phuket

Out of this world!

by TripAdvisor Member StyloMum

We booked the Summer package directly with Mom Tri for our 9th anniversary trip and it was worth every baht we spent! Arrived late because the flight from KL was delayed. Nevertheless, the hotel limo driver patiently waited for us and greeted us with a smile and chilled drinking water despite the 2 hour delay.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we're served chilled tamarind juice, and also given the flower bracelet as the receptionist attended to us checking in. The lobby is tastefully decorated and the view from the lobby is breathtaking.

Beach suite-We're shown to our room and I must say, my husband and I were so impressed with our suite. Flowers and orchids are everywehere. As we have informed the hotel that this is our 9th anniversary, they have arranged tiny red flowers on the bed that read "Happy 9th Wedding Anniversary"...so sweet. And there's a small anniversary cake, a fruit basket and a bottle of wine. As we do not drink, the hotel is kind enough to subsitute the wine. The view from our room is spectacular as we're facing the sea. The suite is tastefully decorated.

Bathroom- gorgeous! Orchids on towels, rose petals in the bath tub. And the toilettries...superb. This is the first hotel that provides full big sized bottles of shower gel, shampoo and so on. And you could even buy the whole range and the proceeds will go to charity. How noble.

Loved every bit about this hotel. Food was nice and the staff are friendly and obliging. The hotel grounds are so lovely, lush and green. Must try the spa-we were given complimentary thai massage.

Down the road from the hotel is a small village, perfect for dining, some shopping and evening stroll. We also went to the beach during sunset and it was beautiful.

Upon checking out, we're photographed. To our surprise 2 weeks later at home, we received a card wtih our photo from Mom Tris, thanking us for our stay there. Woww!

In short, it was a perfect anniversary trip for us. We're advocates of classy boutique hotels and we can attest that MomTris Villa Royale is the best thus far. Attention to details, privacy, breathtaking views, peaceful, good service, gorgeous room..everything, you name it, you get it here. Our only biggest regret is not staying at Mom Tris Villa Royale longer. So we'll definitely be back there. PERFECT!

Great Old Mon Tri

I was hesitant at first but must admit it is a great boutique hotel. Old but well maintain. Big rooms, beautiful view and great beach at Kata Noi. I Recommend it highly although a bit pricey.

Good Value Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member yamanote

Booked by direct call tot he hotel and was offered a special off season rate, including airport limousine transfer, daily breakfast, welcome bottle of wine, one dinner in main restaurant, and spa treatment. An excellent value. Room is good quality, partially overlooking Kata Rai beach with the noise of waves crashing into the rocks below a natural back ground soundtrack. Breakfast consists of extensive buffet and includes eggs cooked to order as well, served 0730-1000. Staff are courteous and helpful Check in was efficient. Internet is also included but set up of PC is a pain and requires help from resident I.T. engineer. My MacBook was a difficult problem but was eventually connected to the hotel's fast wireless network. Spa was ok, but didn't have my (average) size in spa-wear, although my wife was able to fit easily into the small size offered.

Hotel is located on Kata beach in southern Phuket, about a one hour drive from the airport.

Views from the hotel over the beach are excellent. Overall a good value small hotel.

A little piece of heaven!!

by TripAdvisor Member SeanBAU

This friendly, beautiful 1st class resort is the nicest placed I have ever stayed in my travels (as far as I am concerned)
A couple of very minor room problems fixed very quickly by staff.
And as for the staff, the friendliest I have ever encountered in my travels, from our friends who made up the rooms daily to the restaurant, they couldn't help us enough.

Thank you for making my stay a wonderful experience

Absolutely amazing!

by TripAdvisor Member Toniya

Having travelled to many beautiful places around the world, this was to be our first visit to the far east. We were aware that the standard of accommodation in this part of the world was exceptional, but nothing could have prepared us for what we were about to discover.

Unfortunately the weather on our arrival wasn't too kind, damp and humid. But on arrival at Villa Royale, we were greeted with a wonderfully refreshing Thai herbal tea. The reception area is very peaceful with the sound of running water and in traditional thai style.

Before our trip, I had spent time emailing Patcharee, who had made every effort to ensure we had the rooms we required. Nothing had been too much trouble for her.

On arrival at our rooms, we were just totally gobsmacked. There are no other words that could even start to express our feelings. With thai music softly playing in the background, and the scent of aromatherapy oils burning in the room, we immediately felt totally spoilt.

The room was just enormous. Huge bed located in a very well designed 'villa', with really big comfy sofas. TV and CD player added to our enjoyment - there's a library located at reception where you can borrow CD's from. The marble and pebble bathroom was just amazing - sunken bath, and a very large shower were just two of the features. Out on the balcony was not only a table and chairs, but also big padded cushions to relax on too. All this with a view over Kata Noi beach and the Andaman sea.

The pool area was great - a lovely, very clean pool, not over run with sunloungers, in fact just the right amount. Tommy and Boy ensured we were never without iced water, and catered for our every need. We stayed for lunch there on a few occasions and the food was outstanding. It is worth noting that there is another pool situated a little higher up. If you wanted to walk down to the beach, there are steps from the pool area which lead down.

Mom Tri's Kitchen is a must. The food and wine menus are vast. We dined there on several evenings, and could not fault the food nor the service - just outstanding. Little touches such as the unusual crystal wine glasses added to the experience. Sao, Ao and Niwad are total professionals, ensuring you will never forget your stay there. They certainly know how to pour wine and sambuca!

We ventured down to Mom Tri's Boathouse on a couple of evenings. We only had a couple of drinks there to start the evening off, and although very pleasant, we were very glad we were staying at Villa Royale - just a different class. The same has to be said for Gumbo - a little disappointing.

All in all, Villa Royale has to be the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The resort, rooms, people - just everything was 5 star. Is is worth noting that is is built on the hillside with the rocks below going straight down into the sea. Because of this, there are steps to every level, and all rooms, so not ideal for the infirm nor families with children. It is steep in places. But great if you want to burn off the calories!

The weather was unkind as we left too - in fact it rained for 11 out of the 14 days we were there. According to Tommy, it was unusual to have that much rain at that time of year. In fact last year there was almost a drought! Just a bit unfortunate, but it didn't stop us having a great time.

Just fantastic-best Holiday ever

by TripAdvisor Member H0nky

I have to say that this Hotel is quite simply the very best place that I have ever stayed.

We were only there for one week, but what a totally relaxing environment.

Stayed in the Pool Villa, which is just like the website, very private and by the end of the week, we managed to wake up, have breakfast, and then colapse on the pool loungers for the rest of the day.

Walk down the beach at sunset, and then dinner back at the resort.

I loved the food, as very big choice and lots of healthy options. The staff however were just so very good.

Every morning I would call for the room to be cleaned, and then we would go for breakfast, by the time we got back the room it had been finished. I have never stayed in a hotel that would offer such prompt service.

This is a great location, and the beach is very nice.

Couple of rainy days, but shopping in Central Festival can keep you busy.

Very close to a small town 5 minutes walk, where you can get your basics.

Also another great option is the free wireless internet, just perfect.

The reviews that you read really are a very true picture of this resort. It's not new but has a lived in charm.

I am going back to this place without a second thought, just loved it.

Thank you Mom Tris for a very special holiday.

Lovely Getaway for Couples

by TripAdvisor Member Malaysian_suzie

We were initially a bit worried on arrival as the hotel is about an hour's drive from the city/airport and in the secluded South side. But it turned out to be the exact holiday destination we needed. It's private and yet just a short walk down to the beach. Very romantic and relaxing for couples. Not recommended for kids as there are quite a lot of steps to maneouver. We picked the Beach Villa Suite, which in our opinion was probably the best to be in. The Pool Suite is nice too but right next to our Villa so unless you want the absolute privacy, probably not worth the extra cost. Contacted the property directly and got a rate better than on internet. The staff are efficient and friendly enough but keep to simple English. The pool/bell boys were much better than the receptionists staff. Food was good although there were not enough local dishes on the menu.

The best thing was that there was a small town about 5-10 min walk away where we could get great cheap massages. Stay away from the seafood at the local restaurants though as we got bad food poisoning on the 2nd night there, probably from Tiger Prawns.

Checked out the Twin Palms, Chedi and JW Marriot. Think Mom Tri's was the best bet for a romantic getaway, by far.
