    I did not stay at the Patong Beach Hotel, but friends of ours always do. We visited them at their hotel last month, so I decided to take some photos to put up for VT.

    The hotel has a large pool area with bar area. It was quite pleasant to sit there for a while in the afternoon having a few drinks and snacks. The staff were very friendly.

    Our friends always choose room 1001 as it has great views of Patong Beach and the pool area from the two-sided balcony. I did think the rooms were small, but nicely kitted out with 4-poster bed and large glass doors which prevented the feeling of being closed in. The bathroom was tiny and only separated from the bedroom with shutters. The Deluxe room on the website link below looks like their room.

    I think the hotel is about 3.5/4 stars, but seemed clean and well equipped. I would be happy staying here if I wanted to be in the centre of Patong with the beach across the road.

    Patong Beach Hotel is in a fantastic location if you only want to be minutes walk from all the action and just over the road from the beach.

    The hotel is nicely set out with 2 swimming pools, plenty of restaurants, bars and a nightclub.
    Whats nice about this hotel is the rooms are a reasonable size with a balcony.

    There are 3 wings and the views are either pool, garden or sea views. The Siam and Sunrise wings are low rise and the Sunset wing deluxe rooms have nice views over the ocean from the higher floors.

    We were upgraded to a deluxe room when we checked in due to a US Navy Ship being in town and this hotel must be one of their regular places to stay. So no relaxing around the pool etc as it was toooo noisy, thanks to the US Navy.

    The hotel is really nice but we have never stayed there again since our first visit due to noisy drunk sailors!!.

    The Thara Patong has been another form favorite hotel in Patong for many years. It has been refurbished many times over the years with more rooms and facilities added. The Thara Patong gains from being one of the first large hotels in the areas and therefore has an excllent location. A short walk to the beach at Patong and also to Soi Bangla. The Thara Patong Hotel is ideal for those who want a mid priced hotel that is convenient for both the beach and shopping / entertainment areas of Patong. Service always pleasant and rates quite good compared with many newer hotels and resorts.

    As February is still peak season on Phuket I would certainly suggest booking in advance. You may find accommodation but with 10 of you together you may want anything from 3/4 to 5 rooms, so I would book in advance.
    For Patong Phuket itself I would suggest:

    Has a very large selection, the rates are clearly stated, no credit card required for an enquiry, check as many as you want, you only pay 1 night deposit and balance 2 weeks before arrival.
    Some of the best 3 star places that I would call 'value for money' would be Patong bayshore which should be around THB 1,900 a night for 2 with tax, service charge and breakfast, , Thanthip Villa ( nice new small place convenient for beach ) about THB 2,000 for 2, Deevana about 2,600, if you want uppper 3 star larger resort style hotels, Thara Patong etc you go into the close to 4,000 a night range.

    3 star can range from something like Thara patong, Safarai beach, Horizon etc which are close/along the beach road to places on 2nd Road ( rat-U-Thit ) that tend to be cheaper. Patong Bayshore certainly isn't luxury but benefits from being built in the days when real estate was cheaper, so it is low rise and just a few minutes walk to the beach, many new places are large high rise, Patong Bayshore has a more relaxed holiday / vacation feel and is reasonable for the price.

    Coconut Village is a great hotel if you want something affordable, inexpensive, with a tropical feel. Located in the south part of Patong, a leisurely walk down to the beach. It is not as close to the busiest part of Patong but this for many is one of the main benefits. Close enough to restaurants, shopping and entertainment without being in the busiest area. Romms are reasonable for the price, service amailable.

    Value for money for those seeking inexpensive comfort.

  • The Thanthip Villa is very new. I was pleasantly surprised. Convenient location close to Graeland. Located on Soi Eden that runs between Rat-U-Thit Road and the Beach Road. The Pool access rooms are very nice. The hotel was not busy at all as low season but I am sure it will be popular. They have some connecting rooms which are good for families. I did not manage any photos but you can find those easily.

    Nice design, very nice pool. Very good discount opening rates.

    The Club Andaman Resort is one of the most popular established hotel in Patong. I first staed at the Club Amdaman about 15 years ago, and have returned many times. The Club Andaman has a good choice of rooms. The gardens sadly no longer go as far as the main beach road but the hotel still retains large gardens and pool area. Whilst many newhotels and resorts open return visits to Club Andaman are always enjoyable. It may not be as trendy as more modern resorts but for 'reliable' quality of service and comfort, it remains one of my favorite Patong Beach hotels

    We had a really great stay at this hotel..Really good buffet, great views and nice clean room..

    The pool area was awesome..
