one of the few beach front hotels in Patong
.....photo to follow...
First time to Phuket and I really wanted a beach front hotel/resort. With the help of a fellow Vter, I was told there were only 2 in Patong and this one is cheaper. Lucky for me, they have a promo for October, paid 15,000 baht for 6 nights!! I wanted to go back next month but rate is almost twice as much so I might as well wait until they have a promo again :)
I booked a Deluxe Balcony Room, comes with free buffet breakfast. They have the usual assortment of bread, fruits, cereals, congee, bacon, ham, sausage, egg station everyday but what I like here is they always have 2-3 types of food that differs everyday - local thai food. Being an Asian myself, I appreciate having a meal that comes with rice =)
Room is spacious, with ref, mini bar, coffee/tea maker, bath tub, safe. Room also has rubber slippers instead of bedroom slippers. Though who would forget a rubber slipper when going to the beach eh? lol. They also provide beach towel and a cloth bag which I find very handy so I didnt have to risk my own bag getting wet or having sands.
Only thing is, bed is quite hard...
Unique Quality: One of the hotels/resorts that's on the beach! Pool is average size, I thought it was small but most of the guests are on the beach so it's good enough. Buffet breakfast is on the beach front - what a great way to start the day!
Great location too! Aside from being on the beach, it is near Bangla Road.

Great location, good spacious rooms (we booked the Deluxe balcony - level 2 and 3 of block 3)
No views. Quiet.
I really like the breakfast on the beach.

Welcoming Drink... Fruit Punch

The Pool

The City View Room Balcony
The City View Room Balcony is really nice, with beautiful wall carving, mini garden, chill-out corner and of course, a view of Patong street.

Nice Patong Beach Hotel
Very pleasant and enjoyable stay here. Recommended for any visitors to Patong.
Unique Quality: The best thing about this hotel is, it's located right next to Patong Beach and also on a busy street. Pretty strategic location.

Best for the beach and nightlife
Update 2007 - This year they have started serving breakfast in the Baan Kamnan Restaurant which is the beach restaurant.
During 2004 they increased the number of rooms by adding a third floor. All the rooms have been refurbished. Sadly the tsunami destroyed some of the ground floor rooms, but they got that damage repaired during early 2005.
This is a relatively small hotel, 71 rooms ranging from "city view" rooms to some much nicer suites overlooking either the pool or Patong Beach. They do have some Andaman Suites that are right on the beach which are the most expensive rooms. However I do not like these as much as the pool side junior suites. The Andaman roms are on a split level which which makes no point to me as it wastes space and these rooms are not that big to start with.
One new improvement is that there is now wi-fi access in the lobby and some rooms. There is also an Internet room, but the local Internet cafes are cheaper (either 1 or 2 Baht per minute is the usual price in the cafes)
There are two restaurants now, the main one at the front of the hotel, Le Casa, serves very good Italian fare in the evenings. Lunch is served in Baan Kamnan on the beach and you can also get seafood and Thai dishes here in the evening.
I have stayed here 8 times since 1999 I hope to return again in 2007. Being a regular customer means I get my junior suite (poolside) at a very good rate, but due to its location this hotel is expensive by Thai standards. However that can be said for most places in Patong on Phuket.

It is also right in the centre of Patong less than 100 metres from Soi Bangla. So it is a few paces from my bed to the pool or beach and only a few more to the bars and restaurants.

I have stayed there many times (see my pages for more details). The key thing for is the hotel's location, right on the beach and close to Soi Bangla. The rooms are quite nice, but avoid the ones overlooking the street. As much as I like the hotel they can be a bit disorganised and the recent price increases have been a step too far for me. Last year's price was nearly 20% up on what I had paid the previous year and when I recently tried to book for next January they did not even answer my e-mails! So next January will see me in the new Marriott Courtyard which is good for me as I collect Marriott Reward Points, but I will miss PBGR.
