Patong Bayshore

this is a beautiful property in a lovely setting but alas the full potential of the property is not realised. main reason for this appears to be the staff who are not friendly as is usually the case in thai hotels. they do not seem to be interested in doing anything more than they absolutely have to.

what we have been most perturbed about the hygiene standards at the resort.

some cats are running all over the place, including using the lobby sofas and the dining chairs as their beds. i still cannot fathom how one of the chairs in the lobby was wet- hope it is not with cat urine.

during breakfast time we found one of the cats napping on the chair. the staff requested to do something about it, picked it by the neck with her bare hands and then continued to handle the rest of her business ( including handling cutlery etc ) without washing her hands.

the reception staff too were not receptive to any requests. we needed a baby cot for an infant and i had phoned to them a day earlier with the request. upon arrival the reception staff just said that they did not have a cot available. it gives me the imression that they have only one cot in the entire establishment.

we must, however, acknowledge with thanks the patience and co-operation of the manager who did manage to get us a baby cot after we had explained to her our plight.

sad to see such a beautiful property being wasted - all the above incidences do not give the hotel a good image.

Unique Quality: beautiful setting, with mountain view in the back ground.

I'm just back from phuket and stay at this hotel for 3 nights from 11-13 May 2008. It's a clean and nice hotel with great location. It's near to the famous Bangla Road with about 10-15 minutes walk. It's not too far from bangla road but far enough to avoid noisy place where you will have a quite and good sleep. This hotel provide western buffet breakfast which is not too bad but it's the same menu for all the days we stayed. The receptionist is very helpful and friendly and the safe box is at the reception desk. They have a nice swimming pool and pool bar too. The room is clean but lotsa mosquito though. Overall it's a nice hotel with nice people

to soi bangla and 40-50 min from the airport
