The Phuket Orchid resort at Karon is a large mid range resort hotel. 500 plus rooms in a tropical garden setting. All rooms have private balconies with Pool and Mountain View features. Pleasant and well furnsihed rooms. Nice garden setting. Convenient for both Karon Beach and also Kata. Ideal family holiday hotel. Very nice swimming pool.

I am traveling to Phuket in early March and am trying to decide on a good place to stay. My 12 year old is a fairly seasoned traveler but still Ive always found it is best to stay in a place with other children. I am considering the Crowne Plaza on Karon beach. If anyone has any suggestions on lodging and activities I would love to hear from you.

Kata Beach Resort is quite family oriented and quite nice. Stay away from the hotels in patong as they are crowded and too close to each other.
Kamala Beach Hotel & Resort is another alternative.. Marriott Phuket Beach Club
Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket
These are the only hotels that I have been to and have at least seen their rooms.

I've stayed in the Phuket Orchid Resort in Karon (it belongs to the same company that owns Kata Beach) and i've found it ideal for families. Enjoy your trip.
