Marriott International franchise

"Nestled on the gleaming white sands of Mai Khao Beach, the Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa is the ultimate retreat. Featuring legendry Thai hospitality, exquisite food and contemporary architectural design, guests at this Phuket beach resort will enjoy the perfect ambience for a relaxing vacation, a dream wedding or an executive retreat."

The above quote was first sighted before my trip, and it really gears up to my expectation with a beautiful private sandy beach. The hotel is clean and classy. Absolute get away and relaxation feel. Strongly recommended if you thinking of relaxation trip.

The in house food is not really up to my expectation, but if you are looking for real Thai food, you can request for hotel's buggy to drop you to Le Marridien, which is 1.5 km next to Renassaince. There is a real delicious Thai food in Le Marridien, and the price is not really expensive.

Unique Quality: - Beautiful baby and adult pool
- Lounge in open concept, with limited seating
- Relaxation Spa
- Sand box restaurant located around the sandy beach, best for BBQ
- Friendly crew members

by matwau

Phuket is not affect even just a bit from what is going on in Bangkok, a friend of mine just got back from there few days ago.

Go ahead with your plan, there is no need to make any changes.

Phuket is just fine . I've just returned from visiting some friends who live there. Absolutely no sign of any political unrest or demonstrations. We all had a wonderful time and I'm looking forward to returning at the end of July.

Travel Tips for Phuket

Parasailing

by imstress

If you walk along the beach, you will be asked to do lots of water sports. To have an bird's eye view of Patong Beach, you could do Parasailing. The cost of parasailing is at THB700. It will only take you less then 5 mins to get the adrenaline pumping through your whole body.

You will have to put on all your gears and weights. And safety precautions will be checked before you take off from the beach. One of the staff will be “flying” with you to take control of the directions we will be heading. He will also make the landing as smooth and safe as possible.

SHOPPING IN PATONG

by STRATOS79

There are 2 ways to do your shopping for me in patong .The first one is to able to bargain because sometimes they charge you something 2-3 more and have the time to ask prices from many shops or to go to OCEAN were the prices are fix but little high Patong area in general is one of the most expensive in Thailand

Nightlife in Phuket

by Cielo_Algaeed about Bangla Road

A lot of tourists flocked to this famous street called Bangla Road . Many restaurants and ago-go bars are located in the area. This is also an adult spot ...so never allow your kids go on their own..You can find lots of Gay impersonators here who will asked you to take pictures of them and then they will ask for payment.

Some of the clubs/bars have a huge white screen/ tv for the football fanatics who do not want to miss the game.

Tuc Tuc

by sheliadecastro

Getting around Phuket is easy, just that you need to bargain to get the best price. If you tend to go around the beach area, the best transport is by Tuc Tuc, it is everywhere at Patong area. You dont have to stop them, they will stop for you asking whether you want to go. Before you hop in, bargain! bargain! bargain! If you stay in patong and tend to go other beaches it can cost around minimum BHT100 depends which beach. I went to Wat Chalong and he charge me for BHT600 2 way, and for 2nd time visit to Wat Chalong again the same Tuc Tuc give me a BHT100 discount. I think the best way to travel is rent a car because it save your time and money. But be careful at car rental, you have to check your car before you rent it, if anything goes wrong the operator will charge you for the damages (around BHT3000). Its safer to rent a car than a bike because Phuket have a high number of accident, furthermore lot of car will be speeding and motorcycle will come out of nowhere. So be careful.
