Definite flooding in Thailand, but by November 12-17 it should have sub-sided by then usually it is a inconvenience for travelers. Hat Yai area, south of Phuket got it real bad but Thailand gets rain during the rainy season. it is a matter of how much? Cheers Tommy x

No flooding in Phuket. Only thing I know of is a landslide several days ago near the Chalong Circle. You will be fine. It's not so warm though, apparently, so take at least one long sleeved piece of clothing.

Hi there,
Apart from some menacing looking clouds and a strong evening downpour last week, there was never any danger of flooding here in Phuket, unlike the south of Thailand which took a battering.
There have been the proverbial sunshine and showers this week, but the rain has been light and the air is pleasantly warm (I have been in Phuket since March and I last wore an extra layer in Vietnam in January).
Fingers crossed, but I am hoping the worst of the rainy season is over as I ride a scooter to and from work and I kept getting soaked (my ego will not yet allow me to wear one of the plastic ponchos as the locals do)
Hope you enjoy Phuket
Travel Tips for Phuket
Patong Sunset
by Hewer
One thing I'll never forget about my stay in Phuket was the sunset at Patong. I was based in Phuket for five weeks and on this particular day, I was sitting in a restaurant across the road from the beach. The colours and changes were almost startling - I had to leave and take it in.
Wherever you travel nowadays, there seems to be a "sunset tour" of some kind but this particular one was free. Do yourself a favour if you're in Phuket and watch the sunset at Patong Beach. It was the most amazing sunset I've ever seen.

If you are going to sail Phang Nga Bay, I highly recommend going on a guided cruise. The sea was a beautiful turquoise, the temperature was a perfect 89 degrees F. A gentle breeze blew. The karsts were magnificent. The only thing that could have ruined the tableau was work. And to me, rigging sails and steering a boat is work. Much better to leave all that to the experts and kick back with a pineapple drink and watch the world go by.
paradise beach
by mabelyee
a little hard to get there, but if you rented a motorbike and have nowhere to go and are looking for a less populated beach, paradise beach is the place to go. not as perfect as it sounds, but a reasonably less crowded beach. follow the road running along patong beach, right to the southern end of it. cross the bridge and if there are any forks in the road, turn towards the water. the tarred road should lead into a rocky upward slope (untarred). there also should be a small sign pointing in the general direction of the path. follow the rocky and sloping path, it should eventually lead you to paradise beach. "it's not the destination, but the journey that counts".
Tshirts at the Tshirt factory
by faridah about Tshirt factory
Just a simple roadside shop that our tour guide brought us to.
The price sfor the Tshirts here are definitely cheaper than in Patong.
Adult Tshirts - only 79baht
Kids Tshirts - only 69 baht
No bargaining, all fixed price.
The cheapest Phuket T shirt that I was able to bargain at Patong was for 100 baht. Phuket Tshirts.
Nightlife Phuket Style
by DONBURGESS about Clubs, bars, go go
Ok Phuket has a huge range of things to do at night, after dinner there are many bars and disco's and life band spots to be found, the trick is to find one that you feel comfortable in, we where lucky that we found our little spot on our first night, not that we didn't go and look at all the other bars etc.
For those that like fine drinking there are some good spots along Patong Beach Road, just start at one end and go for a walk. For those that like the bright and flashing lights and the girls well Bangala Road would be my pick, there must be 200 or moree bars of every type. Here you will surley find what your looking for Just about anything goes here
