The Institute for Southern Thai Studies
by trisanna
This was an interesting museum. Mostly a folk art museum, which is housed in several buildings. The buildings are labeled 1 thru 20something, which leads you to the exit. We saw interesting coconut graters, boats, musical instruments and religious items. You will learn a lot about the people and history of southern Thailand. This is a must see if you are in the area.
Living in Songkhla Province
by Jeeem
"I live in the village of Thunglung!"
Alas....VT doesn't present the option for me to create a Thunglung page, so I've got to go large here and list according to Songkhla province.
I'm about thirty minutes or so south of Hatyai, depending on traffic and the condition of the songtheaw I choose to take.
This page will include information on my village of Thunglung and the surrounding locales of Sadao, Ban Prue, Hatyai and Songkhla city.
I've noticed that (especially regarding Hatyai) there is limited information about things to do and places to eat around these areas, so I hope, over time, to present a definitive guide for the weary traveler to these southern jewels.
