"Takua Pa"
Well, we didn't spend much time in Takua Pa, actually we just drove through it twice (apart from stopping for meals).
Takua Pa would have to be one of the nicest villages I have seen in Thailand for cleanliness and community that an outsider can see. It is also renown for some amazing food at three places we tried and some other stalls.
The friend that took us to eat at Takua Pa is a restauranteur in Phuket. He has been in the industry for many years and certainly knows where to find good food. He took us to restaurants where he buys food to take to Bangkok or back to Phuket for family. These places are renown even as far away as Bangkok from where they get visitors purely for their food. We met his neighbours at his property in Kuraburi who are also restauranteurs in Phuket. They stop on the way up and back at these same restaurants too. Now, that's saying something!
The Thai people take their food very seriously.
