Trang is approximately 280 kilometers south of Phuket, so the drive there took us about 4 hours due to the bad weather and a couple of rest stops. Trang Province has so many beautiful waterfalls, jungles, mountains and beaches but sadly the weather was against us seeing any of these, so maybe next trip!
September was very hit and miss with the weather and the day we left Phuket it started pouring with rain, it was terrible and did not stop until we were driving back to Phuket a few days later!!
There was a hotel in Trang I had seen photos of many years ago and always wanted to go there so that is where we ended up staying - the Rua Rasada Hotel – part of it is shaped like a ship! We paid 2,300baht a night ($71) for a Deluxe Room which included breakfast and internet.
Our room was quite big and very comfortable with great views from the balcony.
All of us enjoyed staying at the Rua Rasada Hotel and we would definitely stay here again, the restaurant which is called Pakarang was excellent, we had such lovely meals there and good prices for a hotel.
There is also Karaoke every night with a lovely older lady and gentle man and a couple of nights of fun were had here.

This resort isn’t any luxurious 5star place but it has a great atmosphere. You can choose from various kind of accommodation for different price. We spent wonderful 3 days in the seaside bungalow with air-conditioning (1500 THB / night / 2 persons). But how we found out later the A/C isn’t needed.
Clean sheeting, towels, toilet and shower in the room. Seaside restaurant with fresh fish every evening, beach bar, volleyball ground
