Victoria Hotel: Luxury Hotel on the beach

If you are looking for a five star hotel in Hoi An there are only a few choices. We stayed at the Victoria Hotel which is located on the beach about 3 miles east of downtown Hoi An. It is a lovely place and you have a choice of cottage type accomodations. If you don't mind paying a little more you can get a cottage right on the beach. Otherwise there are cottages a little removed from the sand. The rooms are quite large with king-size beds, couch, etc. The dining facilities are quite nice if you choose to eat your dinner at the hotel. We opted to eat in town. In any case, a fine buffet breakfast comes with the room rate. There is a huge pool with lots of lounges for sunning. The beach has thatched shade areas and lounges are set up for you by the staff. The beach is clean and the sand soft and white. The ocean is clean. The view from the beach is lovely with islands in the distance and fishing boats chugging by. There is a shuttle into town several times a day. The hotel also has a number of bicycles at no charge should you wish to cycle to town. We did that several times and the ride takes about half an hour. At the edge of Hoi An we locked our bicylces and wandered around this charming town. The market is a must.
