Cuc Phuong National Park: A quiet retreat.

The facilities are bare bones at best, however there are cottages to rent that have independant electricity and hot water although I did not experience them. A definate 'camp' feel. I couldn't have been more pleased, although some may be put off due to lack of luxury comforts. Check in at the main gate before driving in, make sure you have a full tank of gas if you are driving.

The staff at the park is very friendly and dinner and meals are included with your stay, however the menu is whatever is being cooked, which was delicious. Be warned the lights go out around 10, this includes the light in your room, so keep a flashlight handy.

The Only Hotel in Cuc Phuong: Nothing to Write Home About

There isn't a whole lot of accomodation to choose from in Cuc Phuong. Everything is government run. Consequently, you'll be hard pressed to find 5-star accomodation, or even 1-star for that matter. I wouldn't spend more than a couple days, unless your the rugged type who isn't bothered by less than clean rooms.
